i am Federal Reserve Note poor by design other than what I have in the account to cover my taxes (yea, i am the guy who has to pay taxes apparently in this world).
i don't believe in charity at all either, well other than this one girl named charity with giant boobs.
this isn't charity though.
this is an investment in freedom that i can't afford not to make.
i get paid and pay off the government both on the 15th. i know this ain't no pledge drive, but count me in for the 16th or 17th. actually don't count me in, punk me out if i don't get in.
i expressly waive the right to be treated like a Buckeye deserves on these boards if I don't donate. hassle me at will after the 15th people.
as for the website and the community and a spring drive, maybe some forum privileges for donors would spice things up.
maybe a bigger avatar. maybe an animated gif avatar so saw can get his beer bottles moving again.
maybe we can get someone here to create a buckeye font for donors names (kind of like the VG in my avatar which to go old school was actually a photo of a hat a buddy of mine made for me and then heavily edited in a cracked version of photoshop downloaded off some napster like service that i can't recall in roughly 1999).
maybe we can resurrect old dead accounts as public accounts for donors to use for comedy sakes.
you know how much fun it would be to log in as BrettGoBlow, NDChump, tibor, or even the legend Strassini himself and just fuck with people. Imagine the fun that could be had with these accounts and maybe an orange creamsicle margarita or two.
hey, i like breaking down businesses, lets do BP in an effort to help.
first off, stop spilling so much oil Clarity. those billion dollar settlements for the gulf oil spill really set us back a few years ago.
safety first always man.
if generating revenue were my task, i think i would create my own amazon ad that paid the commission back to the site and filter that ad in the site somewhere from time to time.
if generating traffic were my task, i would create more value for my readers / posters.
how, damn good question.
creating value is about solving peoples problems often.
one problem i have is being disconnected from info in the shitter.
i always had magazines in the shitter to entertain me.
sure some were acceptable nudy mags. duh.
used to always keep the BSB buckeye sports bulletin newspaper in the shitter too.
many were preseason football magazines. great shitter material.
now i don't buy as many magazines (only a few preseason football ones).
with the internet always on my phone, i don't buy reading materials, but damn it, i miss reading in the shitter and i don't use the phone in the bathroom.
maybe BP can fill my need to read there.
i'd make a page / post for every day of the week, your daily BP if you will.
put the links in the post to the articles that 86 grabs every morning and then some quick discussion. then the thread opens up to the daily discussion thread. might help generate some activity on some threads. more casual conversation for just the day as opposed to what we have here which is a dedicated thread to the topic.
make that page / post printable though so i can read it in the bathroom.
maybe some readers don't eat and drink like a viking on weekends and spend half of monday in the bathroom loosing literally 8 pounds over the course of the average monday.
maybe we could get the BP recruiting team to do a weekly / monthly google hangout which then goes up on youtube automatically. kind of like a recruiting podcast. again each video post would be its own post on BP and then the discussion would flow after.
what else can be done to generate cash. maybe BP and Jwins can come up with a joint production. Use some of Jwins pics of past buckeye greats and BP's audience. get some good HQ pics to a large format printer. set it up so you are only billed when they print and ship on demand. get prints made only as often as they are sold and sell them for a fundraiser. i am talking normal sized prints that anyone can do, and giant ones that a large format printer does. i used to deal with a couple of these guys and know one huge buckeye fan in the dayton area that owns a shop that could get these made up for you if interested. Hell if you wanted to do life sized cardboard cutouts of former buckeyes, i could hook you up with a good cardboard guy that could make and ship for you. cutting dies are pricey though so you would need to get the pics rolling and then maybe go to the cardboard cutouts.
maybe a weekly printed newsletter that is mailed out even. personally i like the idea of just printing it on my printer, but why not give someone the option of subscribing via mail or maybe buying a subscription as a gift for their elderly relative that doesn't use that damn computer thing at all.
man this post took too long to write, almost as bad as my blue apron post / time killer.
time to wind this night up and wind my brain down with some pink floyd performing echoes.
