2014 SEC Discussion and Division Races

Man, now we got people going after these kids trying to make them catch a case? smh...don't envy these kids sometimes.

An autograph dealer tried to tattle on Todd Gurley. Here's the email
September 30, I received an email. That email, with name and number redacted:

I have video of Todd Gurley doing a private autograph signing. He has been paid thousands of dollars for his stuff over the last 18 months. I personally paid him for this signing on the video. I have bought and sold game used equipment from him.

I want no compensation. Just want someone to leak this story that's deserving. If you have any interest, give me a call or email. I attached a photo of him in my car signing a mini helmet that I just sold last week on my eBay store.

There is a video and a photo of him signing, but no concrete proof of money changing hands.
Both Johnny football and the entire Alabama football team got off scot free with photo and video evidence. I see no reason why that won't be the case here. Unless he got paid in tats he should be fine.

I actually went back and read the AMA from 6 months ago when I saw you post this. It is a pretty damn interesting AMA. In the back (and front) of my mind I know that this happens everywhere and all the time but to see a dealer actually describe it in detail just puts a shiver up my spine.
Obviously you can't trust everything you read on the internet, but I did the same thing and it kind of sucks knowing that the list of star players who did this is likely 100 times longer than the list of star players who didn't.

the guy buying the autographs from him is the one that outed him?
do i understand that correctly???

wtf. talk about biting the hand that feeds...

Gurley signed 80 items with the guy that turned snitch, plus another 90 sequential items that were available on eBay through somebody else. When the story broke there were over 250 signed Gurley items available on eBay. For comparison items with Marcus Mariotta's John Hancock numbered about 40.

1) Maybe the other broker got a better rate so the first guy got pissed off
2) If Gurley was signing for multiple people, the stuff the first broker produced would be worth a lot less once supply > demand

Source: NCAA violation may end Gurley’s season

A person familiar with the investigation of the possible violations by Georgia running back Todd Gurley told the AJC on Friday that it’s a “significant” case of the sale of memorabilia and there is a possibility that Gurley may not be cleared to return to the field this season.

Unlike the case involving Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, the source says, there is evidence that wasn’t available in the Manziel case. Manziel got a half-game punishment last season to start the year.

Other sources familiar with the investigation say a determination of punishment should be made by early next week.
