2014 SEC Discussion and Division Races

A couple years back, the Florida Gators PR department put a crocodile on the cover of their media guide.

They're at it again:

Brief news from SEC media days.
Apparently Mike Slive has been in contact with the Conference leaders of the other five major conferences and all are in agreement.
If the NCAA doesn't bend on rules or make accommodations allowing leagues to create certain and enforce certain rules - the five major conferences are considering forming their own division.

Of course it's saber rattling - but it's interesting that a veryreserved and quiet commish would be this vocal about change.

That is interesting that Silve would open his mouth publicly.... Tejas people have been talking about this since the beginning of the year, a Division IV, if you will, where the top 60 or so school make their own rules and leave the NCAA behind.

It fits perfectly with the "super conference" scenarios that everyone has been talking about since conference expansion heated up.
