Way to bitch up.I couldn't think of a way to say "it's too damn high", had to improvise, adapt, overcome and all that.
fifyBama-tOSU will be a far bigger ratings draw than nuclear war with ISIS.
I hear what you're saying, but "earning it" is not an objective determination. Not by any means is it objective, not in this system.I certainly hope we don't get in because it would be a good draw. Fuck that noise. If we don't earn it then we shouldn't get the ND treatment.

With that being the case, I'd rather be in on the basis of our being a good draw than be out because of S-E-C bias, F-S-U dealing souls for success, Orygun playing the Phil Knight card, lack of a Big 12 championship game, or whatever other fucked-up mess someone cooks up.

I will take whatever and be happy. If I take off my scarlet glasses then I don't see a big difference between us and tcu and Baylor. I won't complain either way no matter who gets in. The only thing that would upset me is two teams from one conference getting in. I really just want to see us win the next 3-4 games comfortably.Assuming we win the next two games, I think Ohio State will have earned it over Miss St.
We could argue til the cows come home over whose more deserving between Ohio State and Baylor/TCU.
If consistency, brand, tv ratings is what tips the scales there... so be it. I'll take it. Personally I don't think it comes down to that, though -- one of the current favorites to be conference champs will slip up.
At the risk ofTo deliberately sound like a broken record, how much better would our chances of snagging the last playoff spot be were we facing a top ten Michigan team on Saturday? Again screw this "taking care of business" crap. In more seasons than not, we will have one loss and be battling other one loss teams for the final two playoff spots, and perception will matter. We need a strong Big Ten and a strong Michigan. Ohio Fricking State shouldn't have to count on going undefeated to get in.
At least some at ESecPN are sticking to the narrative... Hyperbole much?
If Mississippi State wins Egg Bowl, it should be playoff bound
...If Mississippi State handles its business Saturday, there won’t be four teams in America that can claim a better résumé than the Bulldogs, who would have gone 7-1 in arguably the toughest division in the history of college football with that one loss coming on the road to the No. 1 team (Alabama) by five points...
...With Arkansas moving into ESPN’s power rankings this week at No. 25, that means all seven teams in the SEC West have been ranked in that poll at some point this season.
