2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

Will there even be 1 SEC team in the top 4? What happens if Auburn beats Alabama and Ole Miss beats Miss. State?

Then a 2 loss Bammer is getting in unless they somehow lose the SEC CG.

Then, much to my great delight, you'd be looking at an SEC-less playoff (and an SEC Champ that got beat at home by Indiana)

I'm thinking world peace is more likely.

And Missouri wins the SECCG?
I'd give the East winner a puncher's chance. Everybody talks about the SEC West being the best in CFB. That rep is made solely on beating up on each other. I think bammer is very good, but not nearly what they've been most of the last 5-6 years. I think miss st has been incredibly overrated all year...they're a solid top-15 program, but not nearly what the media/e!spn has convinced everybody they are. Ole miss is a solid top-25 team. LSU, Arky, and aggy have no business being ranked, yet LSU and Aggy have been ranked in the top-10 at times this year. The SEC has earned bragging rights, but they're not nearly as strong this year as e!spn would have you believe.

Ohio State moves up from #8 to #7 in latest AP poll:

1. Florida State
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. Mississippi State
5. TCU
6. Baylor
7. Ohio State

The AP poll top seven exactly matches the coaches poll top 7. I can't imagine the Playoff Poll being much different.

Exactly. Mississippi State is living the sec dream. They ascended to the top of the polls on the wave of their conference's rep, and are barely punished for their loss for the same reason. The best thing, long term might be for 2 SEC teams to get into the playoff and get embarrassed in the semi-finals.

65 votes between Baylor and OSU, 70 behind TCU.

down from 187 gap last week

B12 teams are getting jumped, just a matter of time if OSU wins out.

So many teams lost at the bottom of the polls that voters don't even know who to throw in next. Thus Duke snuck by as a 2loss team.

LSU, ND, Clemson, Minnesota, Aggy, Duke all lost.
Both AP and Coaches have ND and Clemson at 26 & 27. Coaches have LSU at 28.

Clearly they're all waiting for the spin doctors to tell them who to vote for.

I think its more likely they'll have a semifinal as a rematch. Bama will jump Oregon if they beat Auburn and SECCG. Miss St. will sneak into #4 after Ole Miss.

I love this close loss BS that people are spewing anyone that watched that game knows 95% of the game MSU was never a threat to win that game.

all of Miss States "good" wins lost yesterday too.
meaning now their best win was against a 3 loss Auburn team that's been beat by A&M and smoked by UGA the last 2 weeks.

other than that it's 4 loss LSU who seems to have given up on football this year and 5 loss Aggies.
