2014 NFL (Well, Browns, so, sorta "NFL") Draft Thread

Here is a quick list of my QB ranks with teams who I think will be aggressive towards them

1. Manziel (Jax & Cle....Jaguars need not only the position upgrade but the personality to drive ticket sales bad)
2. Bridgewater (Houston....seems too easy unless they feel Clowney is worth pairing with Watt)
3. Carr (Arizona would be a surprise team...after 10 wins they could still use the upgrade)
4. Hundley (Oakland would be nice, sit behind Pryor for a year and progress him into it...otherwise, who knows)
5. Fales (Could also see Oakland, AZ, or St. Louis)
6. McCarron (Could see Pittsburgh or GB go with a 'winner' for depth here)
7. Bortles (Someone willing to risk it, a la Minny?)
8. Brett Smith (Anywhere in the late 2nd or 3rd - who knows)
9. Boyd (If Houston did go Clowney, would expect Boyd to go 33rd to them)
10. Mettenberger (Anyone who wants a bust; NYJ)

I really hope Cleveland doesn't fall in love with this guy... if he does however... please let them film Hard Knocks ALL Year because that shit will be ratings gold

At this point, I'd take neither. Baylor has a Swiss chesse defense and I while I can't blame UCF for pounding the ball, I would have liked to see some more from Bortles in the passing game. Am I convinced he's a top 5 pick now? No. Good upside. At this point I'm not sure which direction to go. Evans had a good bounce back after this personal foul against Duke. CJ Mosely would be a nice upgrade at ILB, lord knows I wouldn't mind a top notch DB either.

What about WR Sammy Watkins, in case Josh Gordon can't stay off the Urb?

I wouldn't mind he or Evans regardless....due to the QB depth and stockpile picks, if they expect to either have someone like a Carr or Hundley drop to them or that they can trade up, why not turn the offense around completely?

Gordon, Watkins/Evans, Cameron.....I can dig that, so long as it's not Weeden throwing to them.

Speaking of WR's in the draft though, I feel this is a very deep draft

Watkins & Evans are #1 guys.....A-Rob, Lee, Cooks, Beckham Jr, Benjamin are solid #2's with potential to bump up. A few teams figure to be aggressive in landing a playmaker early like TB, Baltimore, NYJ, KC, SF, Carolina, etc.

Based on the depth of talent this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see a record number of trades in the 1st.

If Bortles is available at 4, I'd pick him right up. But I also think that if Jason Campbell recovers fully, he'll do fine as a stopgap until someone comes along who can't miss -- like an Andrew Luck. (Not sure Bortles is that good, but he might be close.)

Word has it that Teddy Ballgame is sliding down a lot of boards, so he could even be there at 4...no reason in hell to trade up.
unless :lol:bardi wants the HC to deal with the clusterf*ck that is Clowney there is no reason at all to trade up in this draft in the first round.. if Bridgewater/Bortles is there at 4.. take him.. if he's not i'd still look to trade down

One of the rumors I've heard is, the browns hire Josh Mcdaniels, and trade New England for Ryan Mallet. If that happened, and we started the year with Hoyer and Mallet at quarterback. I would love Watkins (1a), the best available offensive lineman (1b), and Hyde at the top of the second.

This has been LOLBardi's plot all along. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me.

Then McDaniels can come in, trade Gordon then draft Manziel while proclaiming "I can turn him into a QB".
