How are they getting disrespected by the stats? They're the favorite out of their region to make the F4. I believe Vegas has them as 2nd only to Florida to win the whole thing.

Your original argument was that OSU as a 6 made sense in light of their #24 ranking. I suggested that argument is weak because OSU made some significant strides since those rankings came out (winning two BTT games, one of which was against an NCAA tournament team, and giving a #2 seed all it could handle). Now you're responding by going back to losses earlier in the season?
Don't let me get in the way of your moving those goalposts...

OSU hasn't made many significant strides since the middle of January. This is the same poor shooting, no rhythm on offense team that only plays well when its balls to the wall comeback mode. Strides.
That ranking and the subsequent seeding are about right (and perhaps generous) for a team that is still being given far too much credit for its' 15-0 start. Let's not forget it also got everything it could handle from Ntre Ame, lost to the Pedsters two times, lost to Indiana and flirted with disaster against Minnesota and Illinois.
A mid-seed is probably about right.

I think two wins on a neutral floor, one of them being against a tournament team, and a very close loss against a #2 seed on a neutral floor constitutes a good week. I guess I don't need them to win the entire BTT to admit they had a good week, though.
As for cherry picking OSU's losses, the same exercise could also be done with teams seeded higher than OSU--Oklahoma's losses to WVU and Texas Tech (at home) are just as bad as any of OSU's losses, and UCLA lost by 18 to a Washington St. team that finished 10-21 overall and 3-15 in conference, as well as to a 16-15 Oregon St. team and to a Missouri team that's no better than Minnesota.
I disagree that OSU "is still being given far too much credit for its' [sic] 15-0 start." I think any credit being given to OSU (if there is any being given) is a realization that OSU, even with its flaws, has the ability to play with the top teams out there, evidenced by the wins at Wisconsin (2 seed), vs MSU (4 seed many are picking to win it all), and close losses against Michigan (2 seed) on a neutral floor and at MSU.

They had a good week (I guess) if you want to discount nearly losing to the 12-seed and being down 18 to Nebraska before one of their balls to the wall comebacks as well as a nearly epic choke job by scUM. But if that's a good week, so be it. they also had several bad or mediocre weeks too. 6 is about right.
I am personally tired of looking at the glass as being half-full with this team. They are what they are - a poor shooting, seriously inconsistent team that can pull off some incredible comebacks.
I already stated I wasn't talking about Oklahoma. they are over-seeded anyway.

The thing that makes it so difficult for me, especially this year, is that I do not know how good the A-10 and the conferences out west really are. I know that you can compare scores and averages and all that garbage but unless you have seen these teams play it is really hard to select who is the better team. Not to mention the fact that certain very good teams could have one off night and they would be bye-bye.

I don't know how good anyone is. All of the great teams this year that played any kind of schedule all lost 4-8 games. Cuse, Duke, Kansas, MSU, Louisville, ttun, Wisky, Virginia, UNC. Meanwhile, 3 of the 4 top seeds played basically no one. Everyone wonders if Wichita State deserves a #1 seed, for played a complete crap schedule. Meanwhile Florida had 3 games against teams ranked at the end of the season and lost 2 of those, out of their entire conference, only 2 other teams made the tourney (an 8 seed and a play-in team). Arizona had Duke, ttun and UCLA twice (won 4/5), but managed to come away with 4 losses. Take those 3 1-seeds and throw them in the Big 12, Big 10 or ACC (even the Big East or A10) and they would all be looking at a bare minimum of 4 losses, probably closer to 8 or 10. They each (mostly) played a few tough games but always had long breaks between to rest up and plan. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying there really isn't much of a talent discrepancy between the 1-4 seeds.
So much more parity than in the past. THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT TOURNEY YEAR!
