2014 NCAA Basketball Tournament (official thread)

I forgot the game was last night until my wife asked me at 10:30 if I was going to watch the game... turned it on around 11 when the game was almost over, saw UConn go up by 6 or 8 then went to bed.

After this title UConn needs to be thought of as one of the blue-bloods of college basketball... 4 championships in 16 years, only one less than Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina combined since 1999. They have a very good and likable coach in Ollie.

The only positives from this year's tournament:
1. tsun didn't get back to the Final Four
2. Kentucky didn't win the title
3. No all-SEC final

This was a totally forgettable tournament for me... bring on 2014-15.

This was actually a good tournament. The shine came off for us because it was the first time in 5 years we didn't reach (at least) the Sweet 16. I agree with your point about Connecticut, and the positives.

Looking forward to next season, even after we lost (again) our leading scorer a year too soon. Craft's leadership will be tough to replace but I'm hoping for a better perimeter game to go along with Lee inside.

Reports: Big Ten moving league tourney to DC for 2017
tBsLlgK.jpg

The Big Ten's move to DC is a power one, a typical one for the league.

Multiple reports on Monday have the Big Ten moving its men's basketball tournament to Washington for the 2017 term.

This news came on the heels of an announcement from the Big Ten that it would hold a press conference Tuesday afternoon at DC's Verizon Center. There and then, it's presumed, the formal announcement for the 2017 Big Ten tourney at the Verizon Center will be made, in addition to any other pertinent matters regarding the Big Ten's expanded geographical imprint on its future.
