Isn't that the essence of the Tournament? It rarely crowns the best team, more so, the hottest team IMHO.

Or the team that kind of lucks into playing inferior teams due to upsets earlier in the tournament. Even despite the ridiculous shooting numbers lv posted, Michigan came within a heartbeat of losing that game to 11th seeded Tennessee.

I'm going to UW for my graduate and I can't stand the thought of the Badgers being better than mediocre. Wisconsin fans actually think that Madison is a relevant sports town- it really isn't.

Like every other American championship event it is necessary to over hype the hell out of it. Hours of pregame blather followed by 30 minutes of intros, etc., that didn't weigh down the previous rounds of the tournament. This is why I find it hard to watch these things without a strong rooting interest.
