The three point shot helps, but the one-and-done thing has changed the game. Look at Mercer - 5 senior starters. You never see that at a major program. If our guys all stuck around for 4 years we'd be hanging some banners, but other major programs would say the same thing.

The mid-majors, on the other hand, keep their guys for 4 years. The good ones can parlay that maturity into making up for a talent gap in a win-or-go-home game on a neutral court.

He also missed a FT with 32 seconds left in regulation, but if his teammate (Burgess) doesn't miss TWO free throws with 10 seconds left it never comes down to that play.

Still up 4 with no time essentially, if you sit on your hands and don't move it's game over. That had it won regardless of the FTs and instead he committed the dumbest foul known to man. Feel for the kid.

Reality, and Virginia's #1 defense, set in after halftime. Coastal Carolina has 15 points in 15 minutes in the second half.

Looks like we'll have to wait at least another year for a 16-1 upset.
