Just, no.... World Cup every 3 years?BuzzFeed has some radical suggestions as to how to improve the World Cup: http://www.buzzfeed.com/danoshinsky/how-to-fix-the-world-cup

Landon Donovan reaction to the loss...he makes reasonable points tactically perhaps, but I don't know that he wants to be the one making them, lest he come off as bitter.
Some of Bradley's offensive positioning was a direct result of Jozy Altidore's injury in the attacking third. It simply left the US with little choice in terms of attacking formations.
The rest of the world talks about the heart this team showed, and you say they played like pansies. Part of the reason for the strategy was caused (or at least influenced) by an injury, causing others to play out of their normal positions. Juergen then made a decision on personnel that backfired. Would a different strategy have yielded a different result? Possibly, but no guarantee. But to question their effort (which stating they played like pansies does) is asinine.Sad to watch that we sat back for 95 minutes and merely tried to survive rather than attacked Belgium. I don't expect 90 minutes of full out assault, but as demonstrated towards the end we had to ability to go at Belgium and be dangerous, instead we sat back and played like panzies.

How I miss the dings (would that be considered ding whining?)
Actually I was referring to Altidore being injured, which caused Bradley and Dempsey to be used differently than they normally would have been. Then throw in the injury to Johnson, and you have a team with little depth to begin with having to scramble to stay on the field with a top 10 team in the world. If you don't think those things made a difference, I'd have to question your knowledge of, well, just about anything. The rest of the world saw them do everything they were capable of to stay in the game (and sometimes when you're out-manned you go into a defensive shell). You saw a bunch of pansies. But be the contrarian if it makes you feel better. I never said they played a great tactical game. Beckerman in the midfield would have probably helped them with possession. But they did play their butts off.We showed heart about 80 minutes into the game... only person who showed heart before that is Howard. People tend to forget how awful we were for most of the game bc we actually picked it up and went at Belgium and showed heart by not quitting after going down 2-0. I don't disagree that Fabian going down messed up the unit a bit, but what's the excuse the first 30 min of passive soccer? 39 shots for Belgium to our 14. 27 shots on goal for them. They almost double our shots with their shots on goal, they took 19 corners, which is more than shots we had. We easily could have lost 6-0 had Howard not kept us in it. I'm sorry but I have to question your knowledge of soccer if you can give our team any credit for the first 85 minutes of that game. We hung our goalie out to dry all day. If it wasn't for him we would have been routed easily...

You don't lose your top player and not make adjustments both in game plan and personnel. Pointing out the loss of Altidore as a significant loss for this team is not an excuse, it's just reality. The US Team didn't have the overall talent to overcome such a loss. Even a soccer hater like me sees that plainly.
Lack of heart Run along noobling.
You don't know crap about soccer. At one pt it was like 24 shots to our 6, that is the kind of crap you get in ridiculously overmatched HS games. We played like pansies the first 80 min, hence the reason we look so over-matched til we actually started to press.
