Game Thread 2014 B1G Championship Game: tOSU vs. Wisconsin, Dec. 6, 8:17 PM ET, FOX

I don't want to hijack this thread, or if this is the best place for this......

but if there was any truth to the black jersey rumor going around earlier this year, I can't help but think that wearing them in this game would be a great tribute to Kosta.
Why? A black armband, his number or initials on the helmet, a moment of remembrance before the game. He played in the hope of earning the right to wear a scarlet jersey, not a black one.

Both are pretty banged up. At his presser yesterday, Gary Andersen spoke to how concerned he is that Gordon is really wearing down. And Clement wasn't to be used against Minnesota except in emergency situations. At times, Wisconsin had neither of them on the field. Instead, Tanner McEvoy was out there at quarterback just to give them a breather.

In that case, it sure was nice of the Minnehaha defense to not even touch Clement on those two TD runs.

Not sure about a 100 meter dash but Gordon runs a 4.4 forty an EE runs a 4.33
and you believe those numbers? Guys, they're both good but who has like 50 thousand breakaway runs this year and who has 2? Gordon is a faster by a decent margin but I agree I do like Zeke's catching, blocking and over all game. Gordon is special though with the ball in his hands and maybe Zeke will be there one day but Zeke is more of a 4-6 yard tough runner type were Gordon is going to run to the edge and find a seam then hit the afterburners.

I am wondering how badly Gordon injured his ankle and how well he will be able to plant it in the ground in this game. I am being optimistic in hoping that it severely hampers his abilities and he is shut out to sub 80 yards. And then we need to shut out Clement, too.

I'm convinced the name of the running back at Wisconsin doesn't matter. It has and always will be the offensive line that does it for them.

I probably dislike the idea of black jerseys less than many, but I'd prefer not to see them, in general. When I thought of seeing black jerseys for this reason, I thought it would be OK to do - just this once and for this reason. But you make a good point. I don't pretend to have known, or even met Karageorge. Heck, I admit that I didn't even know about him until he went missing. But I don't think black jerseys are, or ever should be, even considered for "alternate jerseys". Do something else for him. I like the idea of the small numbers on the backs of the helmets, the way they had "SS" for Stephanie Spielman for a while. I wouldn't even mind the Penn State idea for Mike Mauti (RIP), with the Alabama-esque number on the side of the helmets. Or.. how about everyone's name gets replaced with "Karageorge"? I'm not crazy about that idea, but I like it better than black jerseys.

Just as a point of information, how long would it take to get all of the required black jerseys prepared for this game, assuming they started Sunday morning, and had exactly 0 prepared prior to that?

Opening up as a 3 point dog to Bucky.

I'll take that.

We've played very sloppy football since Sparty and have won every game since.

All it's going to require is fundamental, heady football to win this one. No doubt that on the whole the Buckeyes have more talent. Come prepared, go to the Rose.

You better believe that if both of these backs are not 100% it will undoubtedly effect the game in some way shape or form. It just will.

Well yeah, it will have some effect. But year in, year out Wisconsin's running backs get touted and they seemingly always disappoint in the NFL. Now I don't think that will necessarily be the case with Gordon, but it says a whole hell of a lot about the quality of line play and the schemes they run.

That's also true for most blue chip college RBs in NFL (ie Reggie Bush, Trent Richardson comes to mind).

I'm not sure where speed ranks in the makeup of an elite RB. It's high, but I don't think it's the #1 thing. My suggestion is vision - the ability to see where the lane will be, when to be patient or hit it, when and where to cut. Gordon is an elite back and he has great vision. I think EE has the potential to be one, but Gordon is a proven one. He profits from being in a run offense, but the defense knows what is coming too - which makes what he has done really impressive.

I think the key for Wisconsin is Stave. Gordon will get his, and will break a few long ones, but at some point Stave will have to make some throws to continue drives and score. The Silver Bullets need to make him miserable when he attempts it, and OSU will be fine. If he has a good night, we won't. Here's to him getting another infection of the yips.

Gordon has about a 100 more carries that Eze on the season. Probably not a good thing for Wisky. Maybe it is my scarlet colored glasses but give the ball to Eze 100 more times and see how many more long runs he would get.

Also, how did Wisky lose to Northwestern with Gordon running for 260 yards?

Wisconsin started Tanner McEvoy in the first half and he just really struggled. Then Stave played for the first time all year in the second half and struggled as well (3 INTs).

Also, Evanston has been a house of horrors for Wisconsin over the last 15 years or so.

I don't buy that house of horrors nonsense. Where you play doesn't matter when the team you're playing is complete garba........oh hi Purdue, what's up?
