Game Thread 2014 B1G Championship Game: tOSU vs. Wisconsin, Dec. 6, 8:17 PM ET, FOX

Well, hello again.

Maybe it just speaks to BP being better than most, but I went over to a couple Wisky boards and it seems like the douche runs strong in some aspects. I won't place too much blame as I'm more than certain that there are Buckeye boards that suck horribly. Glad to have you here, and be a non-douche representative of your fan base.

I would steer clear of the Scout board. It used to be known as the BadgerManiac forum but it's really gone downhill recently. I'm not sure if you stumbled upon Buckyville at all, but that is probably the most informative, if irreverent, Wisconsin board out there. It doesn't hurt to be a cynical bastard when reading that place. A fair amount of inside jokes and crude language there, but it's all good-natured.

Just got our tickets....From the GAME to the BIG Championship....back to back games first time ever!
On the same gameplan man!

Though, I've done the back-to-back a couple times now (at Northwestern, at Illinois 2008 and at Purdue, at Illinois 2013). This time I get to go from the Buckeyes home (Ohio Stadium) to my home (Indy). Oh, and this set of games has SLIGHTLY more importance.

Can't wait to get loud and have some fun!

I expect Ohio State to win big.

Offensivey, it's the system.. now Urban Meyer has the players to execute it. Even without JT Ohio State has an offense unlike anything Wisconsin has faced this year and they have no tape on Cardale. I love JT for simple reasons... he's accurate enough to make defenses respect his arm and he runs good enough to make them pay. That's the kind of quarterback on the OSU roster. All of our "close" games were because of self-inflicted mistakes which the system is built to compensate for with the ability to score on any play. I haven't heard one commentator talk about OSU's development as a team since Virginia Tech (JT didn't sack himself multiple times), just about how Cardale can't possibly be ready in a week based on JT's curve. OSU will not miss a beat because we don't recruit back-up quarterbacks and everyone on the team has room to kick it up a notch. I dont know any reason why Cardale won't be this year's Kenny G. I might after the game... but I don't know now.

Defensively, of all the teams we face on offense Wisconsin is easily the one who changes the least from year-to-year so you only have to look to almost any of our past games with them to know what to expect. One way or the other, Wisconsin will get their rushing yards on anybody. By that I mean 200 to 250. It's enough for OSU to still win the game big while giving detractors fodder for "concern" about the OSU rush defense, praise for their backfield and something for Mark May to argue with Lou Holtz about. The key has always been to get a lead and make them work for it. The games were close because of ridiculous catches down the field in situations where if we make the play the game is out of reach. I don't see that smoking gun receiver on their team this year. If we get up on them as I expect, the D line will take this one over.

Fun prediction: Cardale catches a pass from Jalin Marshall

I am wondering how badly Gordon injured his ankle and how well he will be able to plant it in the ground in this game. I am being optimistic in hoping that it severely hampers his abilities and he is shut out to sub 80 yards. And then we need to shut out Clement, too.

Both are pretty banged up. At his presser yesterday, Gary Andersen spoke to how concerned he is that Gordon is really wearing down. And Clement wasn't to be used against Minnesota except in emergency situations. At times, Wisconsin had neither of them on the field. Instead, Tanner McEvoy was out there at quarterback just to give them a breather.
