2014: A top 3 wish list

Blanding, peppers and jones is my dream. Alabama has shown that o line and dbs some of the most important pieces to a NC, our d line should be sick, just keep stockpiling talent there too

Hood, lattimore, McMillan and hurd are my honorable mentions. Hurds film makes me drool

As much as I love Watson's game & want him in this class, I think some may be sleeping on what J.T. Barrett brings to the table.....

Put me firmly on Team Barrett as well. Injury shminjury, I'll bet on someone that motivated any day. Not the same quality as Watson according to whom? :shake:

1) Blanding
2) Garrett
3) Jones

No one is suggesting OSU should mortgage their entire future on Barrett by not including Watson on their wish list. We're talking about two guys who according to 247's composite rating are both the #2 rated dual-threat QB in the nation. I understand Barrett is coming off a knee injury but the second QB in the 2014 class (assuming OSU takes two, which I think they will) will be just as important to OSU's long-term prospects if Barrett doesn't pan out.

1. Jamarco Jones
2. Quinn Blanding
3. DeShaun Watson

Jones seems to be a very good OL prospect at an area of great need for OSU and Blanding is a no brainer for any class. One of the best DBs of the past two years. I used to have Drake Harris over Watson, but if you can have the centerpiece of and offense for the next 3-4 years, that's going to be more helpful to your team than a (albeit talented) WR.

1.) Watson
2.) Blanding
3.) Jones

Watson is a stud quarterback that is a near perfect fit for Urban's offense already. A much more polished passer from high school than we've recruited recently, but he can also run really well. A great quarterback can make a good team great, a great team elite, and an elite team truly special. Really high on this kid.

I honestly think Blanding is one of the most complete players we've recruited in a while. I absolutely love everything about his game. We have some nice young prospects to fill the safety spots on the roster starting this fall, but I really think him and Bell complete a perfect compliment of safeties for our secondary.

We need OL and Jones seems to be doing really well for himself this winter. Big kid who can move as well.

I think the likelihood of us landing each one of these individuals is in the reverse order of which I posted. Jones I think is definitely in, probably before summer. I think we have more than a puncher's chance with Blanding and are one of his early leaders. Thankfully he's planning on making a summer decision and enrolling early (I believe). Watson is going to be a battle all the way with Clemson. Get 'em Urb.

Im reading that we may take 2qbs. I wonder if we do that only if we miss on watson. He seems like the best pure dual threat of the qbs we're after. Would we take 2qbs if we miss him, like say a combo of barker and ulmer. One that is a project, but extremely athletic in ulmer(another example is deshone kizer) and one that is more of a better passer but slightly less athletic in barker(also henderson). Just a thought
