2014-2015 B1G Men's Basketball

So, what say you?

"Brian Snow ‏@BSnowScout
I watch A LOT of Big Ten basketball. Are we really convinced that anyone besides Wisconsin and Maryland are any good?"

Dakich seems to have the conference's back and that they'll "surprise" and advance a few to the Sweet 16. I think most teams are pretty dang average. Not impressed at all by the league this year.

Doesn't mean they can't get a few teams thru, it's all matchups and magic this time of year.

2 Sweet 16 teams kind of is the average for the B1G. It's not one of the better seasons of B1G hoops in recent years, clearly. It is a league that has a lot of "good" teams but lacks multiple "excellent" teams. I don't think they will get many teams advancing far in the tourney this year, but it's not like Murray State belongs in the tournament over Illinois or Indiana from a basketball standpoint.

It's not just a mediocre year for Big Ten basketball; it's a mediocre year for college basketball.
Feels like we've been saying this for the past four or five years. Still I'd disagree with this. I just think this is the first time in awhile that there are several legitimately dominant teams out there, and it's making other teams look that much worse.

Remember my earlier posts about Iowa being a dark-horse? Ok, no? Well, I'm here to remind people lol.

Still like the way they play offense and get up and down. They'll be a surprise to some Tournament team with their style and some of the skill they have. Of course, their Big Ten schedule to end the year has been reaaally soft, so it's expected they're looking good again.
You idiot.

Are there any statistical rankings other than KenPom that has Offensive and Defensive rankings (outside of the regular NCAA Stats/NCAA.org)?

I couldn't find any efficiency ratings other than KenPom and wasn't looking for overall rankings (like Sagarin, BPI, and RPI).

Thanks in advance if there are (I can't find any).

Looks like the B1G will have 5 of the 7 teams that made the field playing for a berth in the Sweet 16 this weekend. IU and PU the losers in the Round of 64. Of course, B1G teams will be the higher seed in only 2 of the 5 games but I like the odds of them getting at least 2 teams to the S16.
