MSU losing to Texas Southern was the worst loss the B1G has had this season. Granted, no Branden Dawson, but still you'd expect them to win that game regardless. And MSU is still supposed to be one of the league's better teams this year.

All of this focus on upset losses would make it all the more humorous to see the reaction from the media if the B1G gets 4 teams in the Sweet 16 again - and make no mistake, there is still a reasonable chance at that happening. UW and Maryland seem to be strong tourney teams, while MSU (with Dawson) and OSU should have a realistic shot at making the second weekend.

Indiana is the one sleeper team from the B1G that I think has potential to make some noise this year, not saying they're going to advance but I wouldn't be surprised if they made the tournament.

Blew it against Georgetown today....they controlled a good bit of the game but fell apart late, lots of michigan esque 3 point chucking.

With conference play starting today, I thought I'd lay out a predicted finish in the conference. No schedule analysis here.

Wisconsin: Pretty good.
Ohio State: The most talent outside of Wisconsin.
Maryland: Good freshmen - a Big Ten rarity. Who is Jake Layman and why is he good?
Michigan State: Prediction based on coaching only. The least amount of talent in East Lansing since Drew Neitzel.
Indiana: Bad coach. Good guards. Fun to watch. No defense. How good would this team be with Luke Fischer?
Illinois: Rice is a good transfer. Cosby and Starks are bad transfers.
Minnesota: Andre Hollins is too inconsistent. The newcomers Morris and Mason are pretty good. Joey King starts on a Big Ten team?
Iowa: Bad coach. Bad guards. If Olaseni takes Woodbury's minutes, the Hawkeyes will get better.
Michigan: No center or power forward. Bad freshmen. Spike plays a lot.
Purdue: No defense. Painter is not a good coach without Hummel, Johnson, and Moore.
Nebraska: Not much talent except for Shields and Petteway. Home court advantage not helping this year.
Penn State. Newbill is good.
Northwestern: Freshmen not THAT good.
Rutgers: Too horrible to watch.
