Are you counting both backward and forward crossings?
Braxton to have two or three unforced fumbles and throw a couple of picks
If this is the case, then the down side is that of more years of good OSU teams having to luck their way into important bowl/playoff games. Long term history keeps Wisconsin and Michigan State from getting any love. Put the same records on Michigan and Penn State and there'd be three Big Ten teams in the top 10 to 15.
My one recall of bad OSU teams would be 1966. A year when IU got jobbed by the refs on a goal line dive play and the game ended in a 0 - 0 tie. But in 67 they went 7 - 3 and the next year they were national champs.
Had a similar conversation with some friends just yesterday. I don't think Anderson wants to run the system he's running up there right now. But, unlike RR, he didn't try to force a team into an offense it couldn't run. That to me is a sign of a solid coach. So, in as much as the B1G's problem of late has been shitty coaching, he may be a step in the right direction.Sadly Wisconsin pretty much holds they keys to what the perception of the BIG will be for the next 3 years.

Well, it does seem as tho the Big Ten's traditional powers are indeed in the East, but I kind of feel that much of why I feel that way is clouded by the reality that the Big Ten was the Big 2 and Little 8 for the bulk of my life, and prior. I still have a hard time believing Wisconsin is "here to stay" and yet, they have been a solid team for over 20 years now. But, somehow, in the back of my mind... I think of them as 1-11 I guess.I agree with you on that. I'll admit that I hate the new realignment this conference is going to have. Mostly because I think Wisconsin and Nebraska were given very generous paths to reach a BIG CG. Granted I hate the badgers almost as much as I hate the vulvarines. Anderson might make it easier to wish them well, but I still will hate doing it. ORD can pray that scU* becomes relevant again all he wants, but the truth is Wisconsin, with 2 games against LSU and 1 game against Bama beginning the season over the next three years, is how this conference can "elevate" itself. It drives me nuts thinking they can lose all three of those games and still end up in the conference title game...absolutely nuts.

I am no fan of Iowa, and I think Ferentz has gone the way of Carr in terms of just not giving a damn any more, but they can put together some decent teams.
Northwestern is ... I can't believe I'm saying this.. OK as long as they hold on the Fitzgerald. (Ironic, aint it, that I just blasted Wisconsin and not the Mildcats... lol... I would, but I don't want this post to be too long). Nebraska can figure it out again one day.
Looking at the East, it's really Ohio State and a few "names" At least for a while.
That's a good point re: scheduling. If you look at the BigXII's recent "flavor of the week" teams, you'll find that they've pretty much all had back loaded schedules. Perception is the BigXII is legitimized by teams like Baylor... but...Isn't that the truth about most BIG teams in general? IMO it is. It's also why Delany scheduling the BIG for the next 57 years is quite possibly the dumbest move in all of sports scheduling history. I honestly don't know why more people aren't pissed about it. Not only does it seem like he refuses to let one BIG team benefit from another BIG teams preseason hype, but he wants to make sure that at least half of our teams will suffer losses before rivalry weekend. How does this benefit the BIG brand? Can you remember the last time Bama played a meaningful game before rivalry weekend? Go take a look at a FSU or Clemson schedule before secpn/acc love and now. All of a sudden FSU plays Idaho before a rivalry, Clemson plays the citadel? Neither of which at this point have a full 2014 schedule set in stone. Meanwhile in the BIG, The BUCKS get to play what may be, the dirtiest team in the BIG, before our rivalry game in 15 and 16. Wisconsin should walk to the CCG in 14 and 15, but in 2016, I'm not sure WTF that schedule is all about.

Do you know that schedules are Delaney's call? Just asking.
Division splits are hard to call in most conferences. The preference for geography gets in the way of history and reality. Last 5 years excepted, that means you have to split Ohio State, Michigan first, then Penn State & Wisconsin, then Nebraska & Sparty. The rest you can pretty much treat like orphans.
The north/south split killed the Big 8/10/12/10. There just was not enough talent on the North side.
The same thing will happen to the PAC when USC bounces back.
The SEC suffers from the complete collapse of Florida and Tennessee.
The ACC suffers from having only two schools that give two Mark Mays about football and both spend much of their time under the NCAA investigation spotlight.
Fitzgerald Toussaint being the 5th best player on the team might be a sign that their return to glory is still a few years off.
That or the fact that CFN literally ran out of players to put in the top 10 and just pasted the 4 most hyped incoming freshman in the final spots.
Edit: OR the fact that (I just noticed) the #2 player is out with a torn ACL.
It's astounding how barren their offensive roster is of legitimate weapons. Honestly, who is their best offensive player? Gallon? He's a very solid receiver, but hardly somebody I'd call a "playmaker"...he's the equivalent of a "volume scorer" in basketball. Funchess is a talent, but he seems to have a case of the dropsies. Gardner is so shellshocked, he practically crumples into the fetal position after 3 steps and lays on the ground all hurt. Toussaint is a miserable RB, and Green hasn't shown a whole lot. But, I'm not sure how you judge them objectively behind that turnstile OL. They lose both their Tackles (and probably best linemen) after this year. And they've shuffled their line around so much this year, so it's not like they'll have much continuity on the interior. Maybe they bring in an OL coach after this season that can wring something out of these stiffs. But next year could be rough along the OL as well.
