2013 TSUN Football News

I have to admit that after rewatching the PU game I am rethinking my position on having a mediocre coach up North.

I like to see Cardale Jones play. But if I am going to watch him for most of a half I would prefer to wait until he is ready for prime time.

I want the other B1G teams to improve not just for the integrity of the league or for improving our SOS. I am getting tired of watching Urban drive this Maserati of a team around in a school zone (and yes, I realize the Maserati is only a couple of weeks old). If we are going to have a Heisman quality QB let's watch him for 4 quarters.

The UM team I watched Saturday was poorly prepared, poorly motivated and soft. That team will not be competitive against OSU. Unless they improve greatly (and I don't think Hoke can make that happen) I will enjoy the route, but regret not seeing us pushed to our own max effort.

But I can live with it.

Don't you worry. They are recruiting well and they will be plenty competetive. We just want Hoke to be their coach.

You joke, but the data are actually pretty damn incredible. Almost a perfectly linear regression. Scoring two points next year is the next logical progression of the statistics.

If the linear regression is so perfect, the elephant on the table here is what does it mean when MSU-AA scores a negative number of points in 2 years?

1. Sugar Shane ran backwards into the MSU endzone?
2. Replay booth got it wrong?
3. B1G network ran the broadcast backwards?
4. NCAA added a "point subtraction" penalty to targeting rule?
5. MSU-AA player flipped to MSU in the middle of a scoring play?
6. Ted Kaczynski, who was awarded PhD in Math by tSUN, runs the scoreboard from jail?
7. Hoke puts on his headset backwards?

Was Shane Morris' redshirt burned because he played for 2 minutes?

It looks like he had already burned his redshirt:

Super freshman and former 5 star recruit from the 2013 recruiting class Shane Morris has burned his redshirt and entered the game for Michigan with 3;23 left in the 3rd quarter with Michigan leading 49-6.

Morris with a handofff on his first snap.
Morris misses a WR by a mile on a ten yard pass on bis second play.
Morris converts his first 3rd down play, a short pass to freshman TE Jake Butt.

I think the pizza man is going to extend a lot of rope to the fat man since he's "his guy". I expect him to be nudged into making some major staff changes after this year. If those changes don't improve things next year, I'd expect him to be on the hot seat in 2015. Bottom line, I think he gets 5 years. If they aren't at least playing for a B1G title in 2015, I think they look elsewhere. That could be really interesting, because who's really gonna want that job? Their last two coaching searches were very public debacles. There aren't any real "m*ch*g*n men" to turn to, and is any "outsider" of any stature going to want that job after the way the last "outsider" was treated? We could very well be watching them in the midst of the type of 15 year malaise that ND was in after Holtz left.

This. There's no way Brandon throws the towel in on him after only 3 seasons. But I also won't be shocked if he pulls him in the office and tells there needs to be staffing changes.

BUT, that depends on how the next 4 games go. If UM somehow manages to beat Nebraska, Northwestern, and Iowa, that makes them 9-2 going into The Game. Then after getting pounded at home, they'll end the season at 9-3 and go to some mediocre bowl game. I don't know if going 9-3, possible 10-3 will drive anyone to fire their offensive coordinator, no matter how bad he's been.

Now go 2-2 or 1-3 over the next 4, then all bets are off on Borges.

I'd say scUM has a chance to beat UNL at home for the same reason they had a chance to beat PSU on the road....the other team sucks donkey schlong as bad or worse than tsun does.

Corn's defense is bad enough to let scUM run wild on them like they did on IU. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that ended up something like 50-45 in scUM's favor.
