2013 TSUN Football News

I am not sure why buckeye fans are picking on Hoke. He is a nice guy, and we have him exactly where we want him. So what if he calls us ohio and he wears 3 layers of shirts below his tshirt and he doesn't eat all day on game days. Those are all good choices.

This season is only going to get worse for scUM. Games against Nebraska, NW and Iowa, and the annihilation at The Game to end their season. Not only does the season not end well, but the future for them looks bleak too.
Devin back for another year, 20 overrated o lineman and little talent at the skill positions(because you know, speed is overrated). The talent on the D that mattison has had to work with is starting to dry up as well.
Great time to be a Buckeye fan. Talent coming in at a very high level, and transitions from veterans leaving to young stars stepping up. I wonder if the scUM message boards are starting to explode by now

My question for our UM "friends" is do they honestly expect it to be better next year? They already lack the ability to go two deep at the vast majority of their positions and have zero game changers. After this year, they are left without Fitz (who sucks, but is still better than Green et al), Gallon (probably their only play maker), Dileo (an overrated slot guy), and their two OTs (the only real stability on the team). Plus, they travel to ND, OSU, MSU, NW, and Rutgers. I see 7 wins max. Will Hoke survive another year?

That's a valid question. I'm sure the scUM alumni can only take si much of the hot air he's spewing, and they can only cheer for him calling the buckeyes, ohio for solong if he doesn't produce wins and big ones at that. The bcs bowl game in his first year bought him some time. BBut for how long will be interesting to see

I think the pizza man is going to extend a lot of rope to the fat man since he's "his guy". I expect him to be nudged into making some major staff changes after this year. If those changes don't improve things next year, I'd expect him to be on the hot seat in 2015. Bottom line, I think he gets 5 years. If they aren't at least playing for a B1G title in 2015, I think they look elsewhere. That could be really interesting, because who's really gonna want that job? Their last two coaching searches were very public debacles. There aren't any real "m*ch*g*n men" to turn to, and is any "outsider" of any stature going to want that job after the way the last "outsider" was treated? We could very well be watching them in the midst of the type of 15 year malaise that ND was in after Holtz left.

What highly regarded OC is going to leave a good job to join Donut Boy in AA. He will have to try to pick up someone from a MAC school or a retread for Borges Part 2.

I not sure that Hoke thinks he has a problem on offense. After all he said at the presser saturday that they were only 6-8 plays away from winning.

Well, if you read his presser transcripts, he likes their gameplans. The blame consistently lands on "execution". That's either a hefty dose of "coach speak", or he's in pure denial/too dumb to think otherwise.

Is that in chronological order or did you sort them from most points scored to fewest?
(please say "both")

Was curious myself so I checked... it's both. You can actually follow the trend all the way back to 2004.

I fixed the columns a bit to make it easier to follow, but that's just an unreal microcosm of the downward spiral that the program is currently going through. When they hired RR, I knew that he would be an unmitigated disaster, but figured that they would get a Les Miles/Jim Harbaugh type guy to replace him and make the program, once again, respectable. Now, I have absolutely no clue how the program will be saved, and you know what? I couldn't be any fucking happier.

I have to admit that after rewatching the PU game I am rethinking my position on having a mediocre coach up North.

I like to see Cardale Jones play. But if I am going to watch him for most of a half I would prefer to wait until he is ready for prime time.

I want the other B1G teams to improve not just for the integrity of the league or for improving our SOS. I am getting tired of watching Urban drive this Maserati of a team around in a school zone (and yes, I realize the Maserati is only a couple of weeks old). If we are going to have a Heisman quality QB let's watch him for 4 quarters.

The UM team I watched Saturday was poorly prepared, poorly motivated and soft. That team will not be competitive against OSU. Unless they improve greatly (and I don't think Hoke can make that happen) I will enjoy the route, but regret not seeing us pushed to our own max effort.

But I can live with it.
