2013 Spring Practice Info and Tidbits (started 3/05)

It is particularly exciting because of how effective it was at unleashing both scatback Lamichael James and their bruising H Back in San Francisco.

Heuerman would be devastating in this formation and it also helps get their glut of power backs onto the field like Rod.

From what I can tell, teams will almost be forced to load the box creating one on one situations on the outside. I bet our recieving corps will love this. With the speed/talent we brought in at this position, I love it.

It's almost as if our offensive coaching staff has a coordinated plan to utilize our strengths to create mismatches and attack defenses.

It's sad how refreshing this is for an Ohio State fan to experience.

Bong man strikes again. Smith did well holding on to the ball the latter part of last season...

Pretty sure he fumbled in the Illinois game, and didn't see near the same number of touches in the last 2 games. He's not wrong to still have questions about fumbles continuing to be an issue.

And fumbled the ball on the option play where Braxton got hit yesterday (not on the pitch, but after securing the ball and running 15 yards down field)...defense recovered. Hopefully a rare occurrence this spring because he is a huge talent.

IIRC, the hit was a perfect helmet-on-ball hit...most RBs likely would've fumbled on that hit. By the way, he has yet to lose yardage on any of his 61 career carries.

Fumbled against UCF (lost it)
Fumbled against Indiana (recovered it)
Fumbled against Illinois (lost it)

I'd rather lose yardage than lose the ball twice. But yeah, if it was helmet on ball, I don't know any RB who could reliably keep it.
