Brutus Gets Leveled - YouTube

I'm guessing that the entire university legal team had a shit hemorrhage when they watched this. A law suite looking for a place to happen. ITMT teach Brutus how to slide before he gets killed.

Lawsuits and all aside, the people complaining that the OSU players don't know how to tackle should take note. The technique is good, with the legs driving forward, the helmet is ensconced away from the head, foregoing any helmet-to-helmet contact and ensuing penalty, and finally the player is wrapping up Brutus with his arms, finishing the tackle.

Bring on the season!

Yes, but watching the Spring Game Highlights from a defensive mindset when scarlet was on offense has me slightly concerned (from a tackling the receiver standpoint)

I have a question for you guys. For the Spring game does anyone know why we just don't play a real game against a real opponent? Obviously it wouldn't count for records but it seems like that would be a great way to see what a team has.

Pretty sure that a spring game must be an intra-squad match up as inter-squad match ups are expressly forbidden. Would be nice to see that rule changed, though.

Ah didn'now there was rules against it. Yeah I'd love to see that lifted and to see ACTUAL games. I'd even be all for us traveling to big schools here and there to A) get national exposure and B) see how guys play in hostile environments.

Not to mention to see how far we have to go when compairing ourselves to Alabama.

Sorta like USA playing Russia in NYC before the Olympics.

The local radio guys here in Upstate SC were talking last week about the possibility of Clemson hosting UGA (as an example) for spring competition. It wouldn't be an actual game but athletic competitions (7 on 7, 40 yd dash, 1 on 1 battles, etc). It's a fine idea and would be entertaining for sure, but as a die hard I want to watch the third string QB complete passes to the 4th string RB being covered by the walk-on LB.

Oh I feel you there brother  But in theory, it would be cool to see our 2s against their 2s, 3s against their 3s, etc. Not sure but I would think there would be some concerns over injuries. The competitions would be sick though...I personally loved 7 on 7s before season started. Part of that was because our OL was so terrible that 7 on 7s were my only time to shine, but it is fun to just have some different competition for once. Going against the same guys all spring and summer gets old.
