2013 Preseason and regular polls

Baylor plays at a rated Okie State next Saturday which should be a good test for them. Okie State just manhandled Texas. If Baylor wins I have no problem with them jumping us next week. But in the weeks ahead we could jump them. Lots of football left.
If they manhandle Okie State and we play IU like we played Illinois, I'd have a hard time disagreeing. However, if MSU remains strong and tOSU wins out and beats them in the B1G championship game, we jump right back over them. Everybody worried about Baylor getting into the BCSNCG over tOSU (should bammer or FSU lose), needs to remember the Big 12 no longer has a championship game. A tOSU team riding a 25 game winning streak and coming off of a win over a quasi-media darling Sparty team will not be passed over for Baylor, who didn't even play a conference championship game.

Yeah but Baylor plays Tejas the same weekend as the conference championship game... As bad as Tejas might be, their overlords will push that game as the greatest every and any Baylor victory will be deserving of vaulting past or staying above us.

We should jump them back after MSU. I have no faith any more with the fucking spin ESPN is putting on against us.

I just read this in Stewart Mandel's column. Ask yourself when you'd ever see such a statement come out of the ESPN anti-OSU propaganda machine.

• Ohio State scored 60 points on Saturday, won on the road ... and lost ground in the BCS beauty pageant. Presumably because they allowed 35 points to three-win Illinois, the Buckeyes (10-0, 6-0 Big Ten) fell to fourth, behind Baylor, in the latest AP Poll and lost points to the Bears in the Coaches' Poll and BCS standings. This, despite Carlos Hyde carrying 24 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns and Braxton Miller carrying 16 times for 184 yards.

Elsewhere, Alabama beat 4-5 Mississippi State 20-7, scoring less than half of Florida State's lowest point total of the season. The Tide lost one first place AP vote.

And let's not kid ourselves that next year solves anything.

Yes, an undefeated Ohio State would have made the cut--although espn was certainly working it HARD all day Saturday to plant the seed that Stanford should jump us. A 1-loss Ohio State definitely gets left out of the playoff in favor of a 1 loss Stanford/Oregon, a 1-loss Clemson and any 1 loss SEC team that's still out there.

Conference champion? Sorry, but you'll need to ask Gimp Delaney about that.

Agreed. And as soon as Stanford (again) showed they're not elite this year, ESPN promptly tossed that banner aside and has been waving the Baylor banner ever since. Guess where Gameday's being broadcast from this weekend?

At this rate, should Baylor lose this weekend, you can bet on Sunday afternoon that ESPN starts banging the drum for one-loss Oregon or one-loss Auburn teams to jump OSU (certainly, in the latter case, if Auburn knocks of Alabama on November 30).

Football is a cruel spanish whore mistress :pissed::mad2:

I suggest just remembering the good times. Make this the final play of the game in you mind. Works wonders with the 2006 title game.

And cause I still hate the mutts just a bit more than the tigers I could watch this all day.

I have to credit to the UGA radio announcer. His reaction was a simple "OH. MY. GOD." My dad & I were debating how quickly we would have been canned if that were our job.
