Yeah, leader's at 5, which pushes it to 5-over, but there are golfers just finishing up 1. So there's a ton of golf to be played.

But, I mean, in China, the kid is probably a hero for just shooting 73 Thursday. With the course set-up, 99% of the world couldn't do that.
kid got a one-shot penalty on the 17th hole for slow play. In the last 17 years not one player on the PGA Tour has been penalized for slow play:shake: Was warned earlier in the round for slow play because he was switching clubs.

The break I'd give the kid is that he's playing hybrids and woods, whereas most pros are playing irons. So distance control and yardage might be a bit harder for the kid.

The kid wins either way. If he makes the cut, he gets to play. If he misses the cut by one stroke, people will look at the slow-play ruling.

I kinda feel sorry for his parents. They need some security. Trying to watch their kid and vultures are trying to hand them business cards at every hole.

I'm glad Guan made the cut.

I don't know if in the same situation, the official would've penalized someone like Tiger Woods or otherwise. But I'm sure the kid will learn and play a little different on the weekend.

I don't think he'll win, but Brandt Snedeker has been steady thru two rounds.

The Kid got totally screwed, glad to see he made it through the cut.

The Masters basically runs itself and is not governed by the PGA or the USGA to my knowledge. They make their own rules and decisions. Hell, Jack was the slowest player in the history of golf and he never had to deal with crap like this because he "looked" the way they like you to look down there.

I love this tournament and look forward to watching it every year. But there are historical mindsets that have kept minorities and women from being members long after the Civil War "ended.":hotnews: Sadly, In my opinion again, too many there haven't heard that news.

I hope the kid puts up one helluva push toward the top of the leaderboard and is in the discussion on sunday. Would love to hear Fuzzy Zoeller tweeting next week if the kid wins that he hopes he doesn't serve Won Ton soup, Chow Mein, and Fortune Cookies at next years Champions dinner.:oh:

Peace

Seve Ballesteros and Nick Faldo have something to say about that

Yeah, The Masters isn't going to DQ Tiger "Freaking" Woods for an illegal drop on 15 and signing his card (as I saw discussed on CBS's nightly Masters highlights).

If they would actually DQ their "Meal Ticket", I'll buy every alumni of OSU a Powerball ticket.

They said the rules committee will discuss it in the morning. That discussion will last about 10 seconds.

I would like to see Tiger man up and DQ himself. The 2 stroke penalty is a cop out by the rules committee. That rule was intended for scenarios where the TV audience has a superior view of the infraction and the player did not, for example, see the ball move.

One of the golf channel analysts nailed on the head.

His 1st shot, if it doesn't hit the flag stick, would have been long by a bit

So, he dropped a bit further back to have it end up closer to the hole. Regardless of what "Cheatah" said, he broke a rule. Tiger may have said he played under rule x, but you know what, if you break a rule, suffer the consequences. And he signed an incorrect scorecard. And that is deemed a DQ, whether intentional or not
