2013 Boston Marathon Bombing... (merged)

The bomber does have a point in one of the quotes. "Americans have lost their values"

While you might agree with it, and I don't care if you do or not, or what your reasons are... what the fuck would that little punk know about it? Fuck him.

Which values, exactly? I'm sure this doesn't apply to you.

Really? So the values that this country was founded on, is the same as it is today? Look at how things are run...from top to bottom. Talk to anyone who is much older and they will tell you nothing is the same as it was back then. Not having to lock their doors, everyone is friendly, etc. Now it's so self centric and greed driven

Don't you think it's sad that we have to have something like 9/11, Boston Bombing, Texas explosion for people to be grateful & thankful for what they have, volunteers, the police, firefighters, etc? Why do we have to have a catastrophic event occur to show gratitude?

I've spent mucho time overseas and his people never had values to lose. America and Americans are unique as is much of the western civilized world in that we have values.

I don't care about him and his values. I was talking about the good ole US of A. And yes, we may have values, but they are falling by the wayside.

Ah yes, the good ole days. When Blacks and women knew their place. When the mentally ill were kept in inhumane conditions.

And when children were allowed to work in sweatshops, people died in the streets of disease and hunger, orphanages were commonplace, land was stolen from Native Americans, the politicians and business elite got more wealthy off the working poor (okay, so maybe that hasn't changed), etc.

We live in a more moral and humane time than at any other period in human history. People have always been greedy, self-centered and bastards to each other. And they have also come together in times of need and despair. We are just aware of it more frequently now in our instantaneous media-centric culture where every horrible event is national news.

Regardless (and you're absolutely right anyway) I don't need to be lectured on American Values by a Chechan Terrorist.

when people worked for a living and did not have to depend upon the government (other people) in order to support themselves and when all people who lived in the United States loved the country that they lived in and were willing to give their lives for it. I do not think you can say that about many of the people that live in the United States today and it is not black and white.
