2012 TSUN shenanigans and arguments

Still not sure what they're doing at DE
What, Strobel and Wormley aren't good enough from last year? They also have Taco coming in this year, and I think they'll look to add one more DL. Poggi is a huge get for UM - recruiting victory over Bama, and with only 4 spots left, I am sure they'll take another DE.

You are correct. Not good enough.

Wormley is unlikely to stay at DE. Strobel didn't have a very good senior campaign.

Taco is all potential at this point. Perhaps he'll put it together, until then he remains a question mark.

Even if he hits, they still are very thin when it comes to edge rushers.

Taco is the only speed guy UM has recruited on the edge. And he's a project.

Michigan is getting beefy though. Maybe you can just take that compliment with the knowledge that you're not going to get much better on a Buckeye board.

I'd say Wormley is actually very likely to stay at the strongside with the commitments of Poggi and Hurst in the 2013 class, and with Pipkins, Godin, and Henry at DT in the 2012 class.

I actually think Wormley is going to be the 2nd string 5-tech behind Craig Roh in 2012, and will take over at that spot in 2013. Michigan doesn't have one defensive lineman on their roster like him, he is a physical specimen.

Frank Clark and Brennen Beyer are only sophomores in 2012. Mario Ojemudia is a speed rusher that needs to put on weight, he'll redshirt in 2012 most likely. Taco is the only speed rusher they've gotten so far in the 2013 class, but the class isn't done yet. They are for sure going to take another DE.

Aug 09: 215 lbs
Aug 10: 250 lbs
Aug 11: 270 lbs

It is going to be a serious battle to avoid hitting 295-300 lbs in 2 years.

He might start out there but I see him sliding down eventually.

Craig Roh was 225 lbs during his senior year. Chris was that weight halfway through his sophomore season, and almost 50 lbs heavier as a senior.

I want to see how the TE position shakes out first. I know his teammate is projected there, but they need all the TEs they can find, much moreso than they need a redshirting DE.

That's what they said last year though. Speed rushers are tough to find.

You really think Mario would play TE? I don't think he's ever played TE in his life. As far as I know he was a one way player that only played DE and DT for his high school team. Devin Funchess TE/LB and Aaron Burbridge WR/CB were the two way players out of the Farmington Hills Harrison's "Big 3".

I agree that TE is a huge glaring need, but I don't see Mario as being the guy to fill that need. Mario is actually a pretty solid rush DE prospect, he was a very dominant high school player but he's just too small to contribute early, probably only around 220 pounds.

I think it's much more likely that they start AJ Williams out at TE this year and then gradually move him to OL.

You are definitely right though, speed rushers are definitely tough to find. I think they'll probably get one though. Tashawn Bower is visiting in July, Alquadin Muhammad is suppose to be visiting here soon, and I doubt Joe Mathis will even qualify but Michigan is right behind Nebraska right now for him and he's taking an official visit in the fall, most likely for the MSU game.
