2012 TSUN shenanigans and arguments

He showed up at least 20 pounds out of shape; might have been even more overweight than that, and basically had a very poor showing. In his defense he was nursing a shoulder injury.

He hurt his shoulder lifting.

I would much rather face the snubbed Ohioans that RR, Ferentz and others got than the OSU offered Ohioans that verballed to Michigan lately.

Motivation only gets you so far.

Then again, if being disrespected is the fuel, then OSU should do quite well against the talkative wolverine recruits.

Exactly. Like I said earlier, remember who was doing the talking for most of the '90s? How'd that turn out?

Michigan commit defends burning Ohio St. mail
Michigan recruit Logan Tuley-Tillman is unapologetic about a picture he posted on Twitter of himself burning a recruiting letter from Ohio State, even in the face of a barrage of death threats from Buckeyes fans.

"It made my mom upset, but I just told her it's empty thoughts," 2013 commit Tuley-Tillman told WolverineNation. "It's the biggest rivalry in sports. It's sad that grown men and women get like this over a picture. I say women because there have been a few adult female Ohio State fans sending bad stuff, too. God bless them, though."

There are always fumes in the air around this rivalry, and the prized offensive tackle from Peoria, Ill., literally took a match to them, not fully expecting this kind of reaction.

"Everyone was saying that Mike McCray and I were going to flip to Ohio," Tuley-Tillman said in reference to himself and fellow Michigan commit McCray, a linebacker from Trotwood, Ohio. "My mom showed me the letter, and it was more of a personal thing [to burn it]. I didn't think it would get this much attention."

The ones who feel like they have something to prove because they were overlooked by a school they wanted to go to.......

I have never in my life seen Michigan players/recruits talk so much shit. I remember when OSU players like Boston/Glenn/etc talked smack...didn't work out for us.

I would not piss UFM off...hes a different animal than Tressel. UFM is more like Woody than Tress.

If I were in charge at Michigan I would stop this arrogant shit before we got our asses stomped worse than anytime in the Tressel era.

I'm doubting many of the allegations made by LTT in that article. I don't think he's so much fabricating as he is exaggerating.

At any rate, any OSU fan sending any type of hate mail or messages to a high school kids is BEYOND PATHETIC.... far more pathetic than any recruit burning a letter.

No one was saying LTT was going to flip. Not one person, let alone "everyone." I think this young man probably likes the attention he's getting and is taking a few liberties with the truth.

EDIT: Also, I'm continuing to believe more and more like this Michigan recruiting status is reaching cult-like status. When LTT says things like Ohio State is trying to break them apart, it sounds a little unhealthy. Ohio State is trying to recruit Mike McCray. I don't think the fact that he's committed to Michigan has anything to do with that or we'd be trying to recruit more of their commitments.

I really hope this isn't true...

Publicly act like a drama queen. Check.

Justify said act by making up a story about "everyone" thinking you are going to flip your commitment to another school. Check.

Respond to criticism by complaining about a "barrage" of "death threats" from another fan base. Check.

#1 It seems more and more like kids these days base their reality off of what they do and read on Twitter (I would bet a large amount of money that "people thought he was going to flip" and the "death threats" both originated from Twitter).

#2 This seems more and more like standard operating procedure up north these days (we have seen almost the exact same scenario last recruiting cycle). You'd think at some point Hoke and company would reign this stuff in- unless they are actively encouraging it, in which case... well, my opinion of him couldn't drop any lower so I guess it doesn't change anything.

Unfortunately there are likely Buckeye fans who are "nut jobs" enough to threaten a kid. However, given the anonymity of the internet (ask ESPN about Sarah Phillips) I can't help but wonder how many of these alleged threats come from trolls.

There does seem to be an awful lot of talking......Makes me think it's part generational and part social media thrusting this stuff in our faces. For all we know, it's the same thing kids have done for 50 years. But we've only become socially privy to it in the last decade.

I'd prefer the "talking" be done on the field once they actually don the uniform, but I don't mind the confidence to much.
