2012 Preseason and regular polls (official thread)

1. ND
2. Bama
3. Georgia
4. The Ohio State University

The question I ask is: ND loses to USC. Georgia beats Bama in sec title game. Florida beats Georgia in title game.

Will Florida jump us? Probably yes but we can always hope.

This is how I see it playing out.

ND loses to USC if Barkley plays.
Georgia and Alabama both win next week.
OSU beats Scum.
Bama beats Georgia in the SEC title game.
Bama beats Oregon in the National Title game.
Bama ends up number 1, OSU will be number 2.

umm, not sure if you saw, but Oregon just lost, no chance they make the title game

Alabama just lost too...

This thing isn't close to over. Oregon can get back in the discussion with some help because their loss was at least close and to a good team.

They would need Stanford and ND to lose next week. Not impossible.

FSU is going to dog-walk UF, IMO, and vault up a bit.

If ND loses to USC things get really messy. Bunch of 1 loss teams all crying for the bid. I think it goes to SEC championship game winner and most likely FSU after jumping up in the polls.

Jimbo Fisher still must be kicking his own ass for closing up shop in the third quarter against NC State. It's a shame such a talented defense has been on the back page all year. Their talent level is through the roof.

For OSU to have any shot at the AP, two things need to happen:
1. They really need to give journalists something to talk about. They can't squeak by Michigan, they need to throttle them.
2. They'd then need the Big 10 to show up in bowl games. A good showing from the Big 10 in bowl games would probably leave a good enough taste in the AP's mouth to justify placing the Bucks #1.

I think FSU rolls Florida as well. I don't think the coaches give them the edge over Oregon if they beat Oregon State and UCLA though.

I think they'll get the benefit of the doubt for 2 reasons:

1. If they do destroy Florida it will be seen as impressive (currently #6 team in country).
2. The media will crank up the story-line of WVU backing out of their game this year. Not that WVU has been great, but FSU had to put Savannah St on their schedule after WVU left them holding their shit and backing out with no notice.

I think voters will boost FSU, which talent-wise, has the most NFL ready players on defense in the country and I think they excite enough people offensively to get enough help from the humans.
