2012 Preseason and regular polls (official thread)

THIS. I have a hard time believing the coaches/media couldn't find at least 5 other teams worthy enough of being ranked ahead of a team that was throttled in back-to-back games, not to mention the 48-45 defensive struggle against Texas before the two beatdowns.

What a [censored]ing joke.

#8 Michigan gets blown out by #1 Alabama and drops to #19, they barely lose to then #20 Notre Dame and get dropped from rankings three weeks later.

#5 West Virginia gets blown out by then unranked Texas Tech, they then immediatly get blown out by #4 Kansas State.

Bama is #1 and Notre Dame is #5 currently

Texas Tech is #14 and Kansas State is #4 currently.

Ridiculous.

Don't you know that West Virginia was going to play Alabama for the championship two weeks ago?! Clearly they're a great team according to the talking heads.

Meatchicken is in the B1G, which is touted as the WORST FOOTBALL CONFERENCE EVAH!!! by ESPiN and other so-called sports people, therefore Meatchicken does not deserve to even sniff the the Top 25. Whereas WVU is in the ALMIGHTY (Well, right behind the SEC, at least) BIG XII (-4 +2 -1 +howevermanyteamstheydecidedtoaddatthelastminute) and is clearly a much, much, much better team for having spent time with Teb.....oops....well you know what I mean.

Basically this:

B1G SUCKS!!!

BIG XII IS FUCKING AWESOME!!! (Well, at least it is right after the SEC).

Now do you see why?

Given the performance of the B1G this season, whining about "SEC and Big XII favoritism" makes us sound like a bunch of clueless twats.

so because the conference my fav team plays in as a whole isnt good us BUCKEYES fans are not allowed to point out what we perceieve are obvious double standards?

I'm sure not going to defend ranking WVU after they've had their asses kicked the last two weeks. But that's more a result of "stickiness" of ratings than anything else. Buckeyes have benefited from this phenomenon too.

As for double standards, just keep telling yourself that. Pretty much every subjective fan tells himself that his team (or league) is discriminated against by {opposing fans} {media} {ratings organizations} {others}. The smart ones keep that thought to themselves.

ha ok thanks for the condescension. Where did I say OSU was discriminated against? I was simply pointing out what I felt (on an OHIO STATE MESSAGE BOARD) was the over-inflation of the middle sec teams for the football season 2012.

Why would I pick Michigan to defend?

And show me another instance where a team gets blown out two weeks in a row including by an unranked team and remains ranked. That's unprecedented.
