We do not even have a NT. We have 1 technique and 3 technique tackles. If you want to say someone is a NT, its the guys that play the 1 technique DT position. They line up on the outside shoulder of the Center (more of a run stuffer), where the 3 technique DT lines up on the outside shoulder of one of the guards (better pass rush DT than the 1). Here is my predicition on where our DL will line up this next year.
LEO
Nathan Williams (If healthy)
Steve Miller
Noah Spence
JT Moore
Adolphus Washington
DT (3 Technique)
Jonathan Hankins
Michael Bennet
Darryl Baldwin
Chase Farris
DT (1 Technique)
Garrett Goebell
Joel Hale
Tommy Schutt
SDE
John Simon
Adam Bellamey
Kenny Hayes
Se'Von Pittman
Now I'm not saying this would be the order that they see the field. But I feel that these are the positions that they are best fit for. I think Pittman moves to SDE instead of LEO because he has a frame that could put on more mass and not lose his speed at 6'5" 245. But for the first time in awhile, we have a DLine that we can easily plug in a kid when someone needs a breather and not lose a step.
Any chance we see Farris as an OT next year? He is tall with a huge wing-span. He also moves his feet very well for a big guy. With the depth at DE/DT, he seems to be a logical candidate for the move.
Thoughts?
