2012 Defensive Line Discussion

The rush defense is #8 in the country at 51 YPG and is giving up less than 2.4 YPC. Take away Storm Johnson's 48-yard gain around the corner which should've been stopped near the LOS, and the rush defense is #1 at 27 YPG (and YPC is a paltry 1.3).

I think will know more about the run defense after facing MSU..the first two running games we faced were (Mark May).

True, but my post was in relation to a comment that the defense "got ran over", which they haven't.

Mili, you're absolutely correct that we haven't been run over (or "ran" over). A couple of plays where lengthy gains were recorded against us were illegal (gridiron law) in that offensive linemen grouped together to shove a pile forward. Linemen also grabbed hold of defenders and pulled them forward! How is that not offensive holding, I ask?

Once we get Mike Bennett back, our run D will instantly improve. I think a guy like Chris Carter could be used against teams like MSU, and Wisky.
