2011 TSUN shenanigans and arguments (off season)

Something else to think about....

Part of the reason ND has become more or less irrelevant is because an entire generation of people (born in the early 90s) have no memory of ND ever being competitive on the national scene.

Tress, of course, went 9-1 against Michigan from 2001 - 2010. Obviously, Ohio State lost this year, making the record 9-2 since 2001.

Now, if Meyer is able to do what we all think he's going to do - and if Meyer has a 10 year run like Tress (which is no guarantee, of course, 9-1 is not something I feel comfortable expecting) we will have a 21 year run from 2001 where Ohio State beats Michigan 18 times in 21 tries.

That's an entire generation of kids born about the year 2000 who will have no memory of Michigan beating Ohio State with any regularity.

It's easy to sit here in 2011 and contemplate a scarlet colored future - but... it is fun to think about. :)

I enjoy the comments about how the Dunn re-commitment isn't a big deal because he was already an OSU commit. Uhhhh, he just cancelled a visit to Michigan after an in home visit by Meyer. That is a pretty big deal. Not to mention that last week pretty much everyone besides Dustin Fox was 90% sure he was on his way up north.

he can watch our stable of running backs put up Heisman caliber stats

I think I wet myself reading this. They must be getting high on farts to say shit like this.

I thought the fact that they didn't have a stable of running backs was the only reason that Dunn was considering them.

Now Whining About Potential Lack of Sanctions

That UM knows the outcome is pretty unsettling. Yeah, I know life isn't fair, and all that. But if this is the case - that certain schools have the NCAA in their pocket, that the NCAA doesn't do its best to provide a level playing field, etc and so forth - then it's the NCAA that should be investigated. Or the NCAA needs to present itself to the college world in a more honest way, not as some impartial governing body that preserves sportsmanship and ethics in college sports.

:tibor:

from the "over practicing" violations are almost on par with whatever OSU is going to be hit with - save for the eradication of 2010 from the record books.
How does this program not get MAJOR penalties? They've been lying and cheating for almost 10 years!!!! They should lose scholarships AND get at least a one-year bowl ban!

:sob:

the self imposed penalty was pretty pathetic and I would be very surprised if the NCAA goes with it. Even for as small as our penalty was they added on one more year of probation vs. 2 scholarships for about 3 years for Ohio. Heads will roll if they accept OSU's self imposed sanctions.

:box:

Like you, I'd love to see USC do something if OSU gets off with a slap on the wrist. It probably wouldn't change the penalty that OSU receives but could be a major source of embarrassment for the NCAA.
If I'm USC and threatening to go to court, I'd be bringing up the fact that the equipment used to trade for tat's was Athletic Dept. equipment. Where was the accountability and institutional control of that equipment? At USC, we had one player involved - Reggie Bush. At OSU, they had multiple players involved and Athletic Dept. equipment was involved. I'm guessing the last thing the NCAA would want to do is sit in court and have to compare OSU's and USC's cases and detail how and why they made the decisions that they did.

Ha ha like there is any semblance to what occurred at USC....:bonk:

Ain't it awesome? Instead of basking in the glow of their first win over their biggest rival in eight years, they're whining and complaining about every little thing. The best part is they're so woefully misinformed, they just look like absolute morons. It's like they got teased with the possibility of a return to at least repectabilty in this rivalry to just have it yanked out from under them in one fell swoop. I love it.

I just think it's funny how many times I see scUMmers talking about Ohio State should be punished so as to level the playing field.

You're supposed to be Michigan, you fucks. Big 2, little 8.... remember? If you want the playing field to be level - you step up your game, not whine and complain until Ohio State stops stepping up its game.

Bitchy little girls.

I also think its funny that every time I go to read the comedy on GBW, there are at least 5 threads talking about Ohio State at the top of the board at any given moment.
