Sorry, Mike...but look, I'm all for bashing DickRod, but this is just excuse mongering. Maybe it's true, but seems an awful lot like trying to pin the excuse on the donkey. scUM was recruiting TP from the start, to think that any illicit doings magically starting happening ONLY in the 4 weeks after rr came on board to the infamous aa visit it a little naive, my IMO.

maybe it is naive. But I can honestly say I had never heard of TP until after RR was hired. Of course, I didn't follow recruiting as close back then as I do now, so that may have been a part of it.

At this point, I just hope nothing comes of it and we can finally move on from the last regime and focus on the new one.

That was the excuse BEFORE he left Ann Arbor. Now that he's gone, he gets tossed under the bus just like everyone else as soon as they get outside city limits.

Yeah we should have embraced him and supported him the whole time. 15-22 record. Get blown out in our shitty bowl game. Put Michigan on probation for the first time in it's history. Telling fans to get a life. Not understanding Michigan history. Michigan became the transfer school. He didn't get it done and he was shown out the door. Thanks and have a good life Rich! At least he got paid well. I'm sure if everybody was all nice with him he would have went to some Rose Bowls....right.....

Pryor was widely regarded as the most hyped, if not also the greatest, recruit of all time.

Michigan fans knew all about Pryor, they just didn't get a visit until RR was hired.

Also until RR arrived, a superstar dropback qb RR recruit was in line to start for Pryor 's first three years.

Have to agree here. The guy made himself awfully hard to like. Worst (or best, depending on your point of view) thing to happen to that shithole since Ed Martin.

you're only replying to half of his post. his whole post is basically saying michigan fans have a nice little excuse that worked while he was there, and a new one that contradicts the old one now that he's gone. either he wasn't given the full support of the athletic office and boosters.....or he is the evil being that brought illegal recruiting practices to the school (which involves boosters), and now that he's gone nothing shady will ever go on in Michigan.

It comes down to if you supported him or not. For those who did then it's a contradiction. It isn't for those fans who did not want him here. Fan base was/is divided on that situation. RR can really go fuck himself.
