MGoBoard - Michigan gets its own countdown clocks
Apparently Hoke and staff have installed countdown clocks for MSU and OSU. I'm not really sure how to feel about the MSU clock but the OSU one is fine by me. Anything to have that constant reminder there can't hurt one bit. Here is the link which is vague but says something about it in the responses.
What a sad legacy RR left behind to transform MSU into a worthy rival.

Michigan is 67-31-5 versus Michigan State, compared to 57-44-6 versus Ohio State, so not that big of a difference.

That being said, it would be like Ohio State putting up a countdown clock to Illinois (63-30-3) so yeah, pretty fucking lame (aka hilarious) that they feel the need to do that now.

It's a mighty big number. I'm sure most of them are just numb to it by now.

A kid graduating high school this year was in elementary school the last time scUM won The Game and has only seen it happen 3 times since kindergarten 1999, 2000 and 2003.

That's a pretty significant chunk of your life when you are that young.

are you really suggesting osu vs Illinois is on some sort of same level as UM vs msu?

everybody jumped Rich Rod's shit for not "understanding" the rivalry. I'd say Hoke gets it........

Yes, I would say that is a very fitting comparison, since Cincinnati doesn't stack up.

Illinois and MSU are only relevant rivals when the big two let them off the mat. Otherwise they are only rivalries the little brother cares about.

I do not blame Hoke for the MSU clock, he inherited the sad state of affairs where they need one.

we have a fucking sweet turtle trophy to signify the intensity of the "rivalry" with Illinois and a similar head to head record, so yes

don't pretend like everyone was pissed at Rodriguez for not "getting" the Michigan State rivalry from the get go, they were your little brother 'til dipshit lost to them three times in a row, now they are a heated rival again?

I think we might need a second opinion on that one

I'm not really a fan of the msu clock. they are a hated a rival, but out of pure dominance over the years, their probably more flattered over the inclusion of the clock for them than they would have been pissed if they were just ignored.

I don't see osu fans any more upset losing to Illinois than they would be losing to anybody else (other than UM of course.) So no, just because you play for some turtle trophy, adding the in state label to it makes the UM/msu rivalry much more intense, in my IMO.

67-31-5 vs. MSU = .675 winning percentage
57-44-6 vs. OSU = .561 winning percentage

Pretty big difference if you ask me.

The numbers since 1919:

57-29-4 vs. MSU = .670 winning percentage
44-44-4 vs. OSU = .500 winning percentage

Real big difference if you ask anybody.
