I think Twitter is appropriate here because it is where his "official" press release has been posted. Deep breath... our beloved Robert "Tate" Forcier is transferring.

I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me.
Pour out some 40s for the fallen homie.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO anyone but the Tater!!

I love how he essentially wrote out an entire paragraph of tweets

The Tot said:
I can proudly state, I worked hard on the practice field, in the film room and at meetings* after all, football is my passion.

* But not in the classroom, weight room or some of the time on the practice field

I know that by some grammatical miracle, the quotes aren't entirely inappropriate here, but I'm REALLY enjoying picturing him making air quotes while saying this.

In all fairness he did have 5 offers from BCS teams, including Iowa and Stanford

Quoted from the mgoblow thread:

A couple schools on that list (most notably Iowa and Stanford) have a recent history of developing under-the-radar prospects into stars, particularly in the defensive backfield in Iowa's case.

So what exactly does that mean for tsun? WTF recent history does tsun have in developing under-the-radar ANYTHING?

Allegedly. Tamani claims that he has an offer from Iowa, and that Bob Sanders is his favorite player, but he didn't even bother visiting Iowa? And distance couldn't have been a factor, since Minnesota (his previous commitment) is at least as far away as Iowa. Also, according to his Rivals profile, BCS powerhouses Cincinnati and Vanderbilt declined to offer.

In any event, to the extent that recruiting ratings mean anything, Carter is not exactly projected to be a cornerstone of Michigan's return to glory:

Rivals, 3*, NR as a CB
Scout, 3*, #104 CB
ESP!N, 2*, #151 CB

Bottom line: If Michigan keeps signing players who would struggle to get preferred walk-on status at Ohio State, then we'll be okay.
