2011 Stanley Cup Finals - Canucks-Bruins

I think he'll be better when they go back home. But will he be good enough? Hard to tell. Losing Horton really hurts the Bruins more than the Canucks losing Rome.

But Timmy Thomas is the last goalie you want to see get hot if you are a Canucks fan. Dude is sick. I'm a fan.

Yeah, he's the man. Only problem is that when Luongo is on, he's unbeatable. He's the best goalie in the NHL when his head isn't fucked.

Right now, it's fucked. Maybe the Vancouver crowd will get him back into it. Or, maybe they'll make it worse..

Let's hope so, but I will admit, I'm ecstatic we have a series now. The NHL NEEDS this to shine a bit while the NBA is preparing for lockout, and the current situation with the NFL.

Would love to see this go to the last minute of Game 7, in OT just to provide the fans with some real genuine excitement. I don't have a team to root for in this series, which has allowed me an unbiased stand point, and have loved it. Yeah, I hate Boston, but they are the same as any other big market city, still wouldn't mind seeing a storied team such as Boston hoist Lord Stanley's Cup when it's all said and done. It goes both ways though.

I like a lot of players on the Bruins and would probably root for them if they were from any other city.. I don't really care for Vancouver either, but they have Kesler. And Raffi Torres.

Game 7 triple OT would be awesome.

I will say that this is the least interested I've been involving a Stanley Cup final that I can remember. Burrows is a bitch, hard to root for the team he's on. It is good for the NHL though, with the lockout stuff like you mentioned, the US vs. Canada angle (especially involving another original six team in a big sports market).

Here's to hoping we (US) can bring the same intensity to the next international hockey tourney that they did in the Olympics, only this time WIN! Again, monumental for the game of hockey in America.

Tim Thomas is looking like Johnny Bower right now. There have been 3-4 situations in the 2nd where the puck was loose right in front of the crease with Canucks hacking at it, and Thomas just gets in there and fights it off. Most of the action in the Boston end.

On the flip side, a VAN defender loses his stick in the neutral zone and makes a heads up play to kick it back to Luongo. What does he do? Passes it right back to the guy without a stick, who has a fore-checker all over him. No harm, but he would have deserved to get scored on. If VAN wants to win this game, they need to keep the puck at least 50ft from Luongo.

Not a huge hockey guy and just started watching it. Is it normal for the games to change this much night to night?

It is this year. I don't recall ever seeing a series where teams look so much different home/away.

This is the largest distance between teams in Cup history, so maybe it's just jet lag? :wink2:

Canucks barely winning home games, Bruins dominating home games. I think Boston could steal game seven on the road. Thomas has been solid all year.
