Although this has little to do with E3 not sure where else to put this but I have been thinking of getting a tablet. Mostly for fun, surfing, buckeyeplanet, and lower end games like simple flash based stuff. So, I have been doing my homework and decided to wait until the Tegra 3 processors start coming out. The demos I have seen are impressive when you stop and consider that it's on a tablet not a PC desktop/laptop or Xbox/Playstation. These are just the first attempts as the tegra 3 is new, even to game designers.

A mobile 'super' chip huh? I wonder what the cost was for the original yields. Last I checked the lowest size fab they had was 40nm for the 590GTX.

Tegra is a great concept - its a lot of resources for Nv to be dedicated too. Regardless if they've claimed it uses a ULP GPU - still its gotta suck up battery life.

Another note is a non-unified architecture with anything running under DX9. Supposedly for great efficiency. Probably a 65nm fab because 40nm has to be way to costly.

Obviously I can't see much from the 2nd video - but the claim is 5x CSAA and 8x Ani. Which seems rather pointless to me.

They claim that the Tegra 3 uses 40% less power and battery life than the Tegra 2 that is in many android based tablets today.

Claims are just that... Especially when tested under ideal circumstances.

I can think of few times between ATI/AMD & Nv where their product claims we're actually backed up by real world results that made me giddy.

First example to mind would be the R200 ---> R300 series jump (ATI). Those we're the good days.

From the rumor mill, Windows 8 will allow computers to play XBox 360 and 720 games. You will still have to pay for online play. Microsoft did not confirm the rumor, but they have stated they want to allow one game to be played across all platforms (computer, mobile, console, etc.) that run Windows operating systems.

As with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt. I believe this started when a line of code stating "Xbox 360" was found in Windows 8. That along with Microsoft statements I mentioned above.

Interesting considering that the "720" has yet to be made and no game has been designed for that system. I wonder if that system will be made with more downloadable games in mind. But this seems like the obvious direction for system makers to go.

The Xbox 360 code found in Win 8 was something about Xbox System Crash...which doesn't tell us much. I'd love to be able to play games cross platform...but being able to remote into your Xbox would also be pretty damn sweet!

Yes, that is part of it and what really kicked the rumor into overdrive. Yet Microsoft has been hinting at a shared gaming experience across platforms. Of course that could mean anything from simple information sharing, to minor controls, all the way to content sharing. Who knows, yet Microsoft is the only company that can pull something like that off. It's not like Sony or Nintendo have other operating systems where they can link their games to other platforms.

I would like to see long term a digital distribution model, and then the content on the console can be played remotely. It would be similar to cloud gaming, but your console would be the central computer. There are certainly issues with cloud type gaming. Yet over a home network, without sending it over the internet, those issues would be cleared up.

The long term perfect gaming model is cloud gaming. Yet my setup in the last paragraph would be a nice in between while the kinks in cloud gaming is cleared up, and would be a boon to Microsoft. They could show videos of people playing XBox on their laptop, tablet, or even their phone. They could even try to get an app for televisions. It would allow people to play XBox on any screen in the house (of course you would still have to get the controller).

I wouldn't mind being able to play my XBox library on my laptop instead of having to go to my basement to play them.

Popping in to note that the $20 preorder credit Amazon was offering on NCAA 12 is still here, plus they've added the same deal for Madden and several other upcoming releases. The link in the thread ads will get you to the search page.

Anyone seen the trailer for Dead Island?! Yeah it's yet another zombie game, but holy hell did they do an amazing job with this trailer. I'm intrigued to say the least.

I would love to see some cloud gaming. In a perfect word i could buy any title, say EA NCAA Football, and be able to play that on any system from where ever i want. I want to be able to pay one time and have access to play on a PC, XBox, or even a PS3. We might eventually get there, but i think it will be a long time.

I was thinking about getting it along with the speed wheel. But I'm not sure if they've announced if the speed wheel needs the kinnect or not

Have you seen the fanatec wheels? I wish I had the coin for them.
