The guy who was running that site was visited by the FBI a week or two ago. I did not know if that site is still up and running. Never have used it.

Would have had to be the american site, which was shut down. The .eu site is a European URL, so I don't think the FBI can do much about it.

I don't care where we are ranked - it means nothing in basketball anyway - this team is NOT playing like a top ten team at the moment.

Buford seems to have lost his game entirely, Craft is looking like little more than a defensive stopper and our bench appears to be non existent.

We will do well to duplicate last year's Sweet 16 effort at this point. :(

That's being generous at this point... Here's to hoping they find that fire. I have confidence that they will, I just fear it won't happen until they hit the Big Ten Tourney.

Hell, I'll be thrilled if it happens during the tourney. That would be great.

I just don't think this year's team is as good as we want to think it is, compared to last year's squad for example.

I just don't think Thad's players have matured as quickly as he would have liked them to. They seem like they are all playing their own game among themselves out there.

Big Ten Officiating

I guess since there seems to be discussion of the officiating the past two weekends (MSU & TSUN), the only two officials that were constant in both games were Mike Kitts and Ted Valentine.

OSU Win-Loss stats in 2011-12 season with these two officials:

Mike Kitts (alone): 1-0

Ted Valentine (alone): 2-0

Valentine / Kitts (together): 1-3

So I guess keep an eye on that one, if officials are to be discussed (as they have been the past two weekends) and if there are complaints of the officiating.

Here are a couple other things from the past 2 weekends:

Our opponents had more fouls called on them than we had called on us in both games.

Our offense sucked, scoring 99 points - total - in 2 games.

But yeah, it's fucking Kitts and Valentine. Those bastards had it in for us. :pissed:

I don't think they had it in for us, nor do I disagree that the team played like shit in both games. But B1G officiating is downright awful (inconsistent and heavily homerific - though the former more than the latter in the Sparty game) and it HAS negatively impacted our Buckeyes in the past two weeks. I don't really see how anyone could disagree with that.

I'm just glad that we won't have to deal with it come NCAA tourney time. I'm really looking forward seeing the constant hacks at Sully's arm being called fouls consistently, since apparently, due to the B1G being so 'physical', that is not a foul to T.V. and company.

I have consistently said it wasn't the officiating the last two weekends, however many in the game thread consistently said it has been and calls were not made.

I just looked up the statistic for those who think it has been the officiating this season.

So I guess in the future, I won't look up the statistics and just complain or not complain like everyone else. Sorry for just posting a statistic.

After reading most of the game threads and the individual player threads, I have come to the conclusion that in order for this team to be successful we need to start Ross instead of Smith and Williams over Thomas. We might even have to put Buford on the bench and start Thompson instead of him. I also think we need to take a long hard look at Trey McDonald and see what he can bring to the table.

Also, it has become obvious that Matta and his lackey assistants to take a hard look at their game planning and their practices. Obviously, they do not know what the hell they are doing:lol:

Teams have figured out they really don't have to worry about Smith and Craft on the offensive end, so they collapse on Sully. Buford can't create his own shot the way ET could and he doesn't have Diebler scaring the hell out of our opponents from the arc, so William has less space to operate. The result has become fewer open looks leading to poorer shooting, less scoring and frustration. DT is the one guy who can create his own shot and he's been doing it to keep us in games but he can't carry us alone.

Someone needs to become that scary three point threat to open up the floor. Smith shoots a good percentage from the arc (38.8%), but takes fewer than 2 three point shots a game. Craft shoots 32.4% from outside so teams pretty much dare him to take it. They'd much rather have that than most of our other options. Until we can spread out the defense don't be surprised to see more efforts like we've seen of late against top opponents. The weaker teams aren't good enough to apply that pressure to us.

Sadly nodding in agreement - this is not an elite or even close to it offensive team
