Not smart basketball by Johnny C. He should have told his players to foul when Indiana was bringing the ball up the court. He went to the locker room with two fouls to give.

fuck Kentucky and Indiana.

I believe he did tell them. At least, in one convo I saw, he said that explicitly.

Is anyone concerned with the looks on some of the guys faces on the bench. I can't help but think a lot of them look upset with the lack of playing time. Every time they show our bench some of them look quite disenchanted.

I know this can't be helped but at what point will guys stop coming to Ohio State with lack of playing time? I really hope never but it worries me for some of the blue chips. They get some playing time late in the game but there's a ton of talent on that bench.

I personally don't see anyone leaving because of lack of playing time. I think Matta has spread playing time around nicely during the nonconference schedule. Now, when they get into league play things might change with regard to playing time but I am sure most of the kids realize that.

Plus, it's always nice to be on a winning team:osu:

All my sons' coaches have said "If you want playing time then beat out the guy in front of you". I'm sure Ohio State has the same philosophy.

There may be attrition but that's just how it is.

I agree with that philosophy but most kids don't grow up in the same world we grew up in. Terrible fact but fact nonetheless. If Matta had some kind of 1st team and 2nd team type rotation I could see most of these guys really sticking in. The way he rotates though I am not sure they'll all stay which is a bummer.

I feel like he's giving certain players large minutes in some games and zero minutes in others. For example, Weatherspoon, Amir, Sibert, and Thompson all have had games where they got a good 15 minutes (not because of injury or blowout). As if to see how they'd play given rotation minutes instead of them all only getting 4-5 minutes a game.

- Has Ohio State established its rotation for the conference season? Or could it still be fluid with as many players as Matta shuttled in and out of the lineup during the nonconference season? He played nine players at least three minutes in the first half last night.

"I don?t know," Craft said. "If you look back at what coach does, he plays guys that he trusts.

"I think right now we have a lot of guys that can do a lot of things. As long as guys come in and try to make the team better in practice, coach is going to continue to trust them.

"You never know what he?s going to do. We?ve just got to try to continue to make each other better so we can be the best basketball team we can be."
