2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP)—West Virginia is investigating whether some football players wore more than just helmets during the first two days of practice, which would be a violation of NCAA rules.

WVU athletics spokesman Michael Fragale said Tuesday the school is aware some players wore vests during the first two days of practice, when NCAA rules stipulate only helmets are allowed. He says WVU is exploring further and if NCAA rules were violated, will declare a secondary infraction.

West Virginia began practice on Saturday, just two days after the NCAA alleged the West Virginia football program committed five major violations and one secondary violation from 2005 to 2009.

It's Rich Rod's fault

Well, the issues began when he was there. You guys have one of two things...a.) an idiot who is just too preoccupied with his hair plug regiment that he can't be bothered to learn/know the rules, or b.) a cheating, lying asshole who has knowingly flouted the rules for years. I'm not sure which is worse, but they're equally hilarious. We told you all what was going to happen, to the tee, in the DickRod thread when he was hired. Go read it, it's all archived here. Literally everything that was said (short of a knocked up cheerleader) has happened or is currently happening. I'm convinced that's why HailtoMichigan doesn't post here anymore. He spent countless hours defending this assbag. It's simply beautiful how this has played out.

Luckily I wasn't posting here when he was hired, because i'm sure I would have made some ridonculous predictions.......LOL.

It is what it is right now. He's our coach so I support him. If they can him after this year, I'll support the next guy that comes in.

it's the Michigan fans that hope or are rooting against RR so he'll get fired that gets me the most. Rooting against you're own team? I'd rather root FOR osu than root AGAINST Michigan.

When Nebraska hired Bill Callahan, I told Nebraska fans to pray for an 0-12 season so he can be fired ASAP. He hung around for a few years and nearly killed the program. It's taken Bo Pelini all of 2 years to fix it.

Can the POS, hire the right fit, and things are fixed.

But if I were you.....I'd root like hell for RR. Or if he does get fired, Les Miles.

QFT

There were some eerily dead on predictions made the day he was hired. The beauty to me is a bunch of message board hacks could see this coming a mile away while Captain Bill (that magnificent s.o.b) was saying damn the torpedoes.

guess he didn't like Woolfolk saying he was weak in the weight room......LOL.
He's rumored to be one of the folks alluded to by rr about not being in shape. Plus, it's been said he's had trouble catching up since his late start last season. Not a lot of luck with some of the 5* guys lately up there. I can't wait to see how he gets slammed if he leaves considering all the drooling over him and how he was being touted as a big recruiting victory over tOSU for rr...it certainly doesn't bode well for an already thin unit.

First I hate RR and he is the main reason we are in this mess. I want him gone after this season.

2nd if you don't put the time in, you aren't going to get better regardless. It really is common sense. There are reports some players aren't putting in the time. You could have the best of everything.......but it is up to individuals to put in extra work if they want to get better regardless. Sure coaches can coach you up and players will get better. Player's also get better by watching film on their own, workout on their own. etc

Zwem, I think that you get closer to the point at the end of these comments. Good coaches motivate players to want to do better on their own.

what if he goes out and wins 8 games this season?

Then, he'll be back to the standard that got VLLLoyd fired.
