2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

If the game happens, it's actually not a bad move.

Michigan isn't Florida, California, Georgia, Ohio, or Pennsylvania - they have to go nationwide to recruit. A big game in Texas can't hurt things.

They scheduled those games against Oregon and got pounded. But how much talent can you pick up going into Oregon.

If you're going to get your ass kicked in an OOC game, why not do it in a talent rich state like Texas? At least get your name out there and get in front of some recruits - ya know?

1. I want to see an SEC team playing outside of Dixie. Texas is Dixie.

2. Ain't going to be anyone from the crowd of locals in the stands cheering for Michigan.

ask yourself why we would go somewhere like that - a greater risk of a loss with the added benefit of far, far, less money
And to set up a self-fulfilling circle of greatness. We have seen what happens to tenn and lsu when they venture across the country. They are a much different team than at home or in bowls. To some extent it is true of the whole conf as I proved statistically, there is just an absurdly low sampling of data due to lack of matchups. Florida went a decade without a scheduled departure from the the region, georgia almost a decade.

Somehow many other teams with power conferences with huge budgets and proven powerhouse programs find a way to challenge themselves occasionally by playing in huge ooc games away from home.

Re: Under Attack

Most of buckeye nation has an IQ < 100, so they'll always view such issues through the rearview mirror, not the windshield. By this time next year, we will have caught up with you. You'll be breaking in a new QB. We'll have a very experienced team at every position with the possible exception of CB, with 2 junior QBs and a possible 3rd with experience if Gardner takes snaps this season.

That's when the war begins anew. We won't need Harbaugh for that.
