2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

And some of them are still blaming admissions for the Demar Dorsey fiasco.

He hasn't even reported to Louisville yet has he?

If he can't get into [censored]ing Louisville then he would have no business even setting foot on the UM campus.

Sorry, but the news was never this bad under Coop was it? I don't ever remember feeling utter despair. Maybe the years have softened those times for me.

Thoughts with Troy Woolfolk for a speedy recovery. Sucks for the young man.
From Scout.com: woolfolk by yanks26ngoin:

Dear UM admissions, words cannot describe how much you screwed the defense over by not letting in Dorsey. When you have a terrible defense to begin with, and a terrific prospect who worked his but off in order to get eligible, you let him in. I dont care about the setting standards crap, because at every program football players are not held to the same academic standards as any other just regular student. This year was not the year to turn into Stanford!
Leaders and the best, Harvard of the west, et al...

Any vbets on how quickly RR called Turner begging him to consider sticking around?

The big problem that the Woolfolk injury causes is that they no longer have any CB who poses a threat. With Woolfolk, at least you had one CB who could potentially force passes to the other side (especially with a soft target like Floyd on the other corner). That meant you could cheat with your coverage to move help over to that side. Now, they're incredibly weak at both corners...and at safety...and at linebacker. I don't think you can find a team in D1A that won't carve up that soft secondary. They're going to give up 30-35 ppg on the year, and I'm not sure they'll win 5 games.

Not even close.

No one is quicker to bash the living fuck out of Coop than me. I'll probably hold a grudge against that man until the day I die. That said, there can be zero doubt in any sane humans mind that John Cooper was, and probably still is, infinitely greater than RR.

At this point I think the comps for RR are fat Charlie and Gerry Faust (except Faust was a pretty good guy by all accounts).

That's what they gave up last year with Graham and Warren still on the team.

JT  Floyd is now their de facto #1 corner. He got roasted extra crispy on more than occasion last year. Cullen Christian is one of the few kids they brought in last year that I wouldn't actually mind having, but would not dare hope he would have to see the field as a true frosh...much less be counted on as a starter. The depth? Two tiny true frosh, another midget who has changed positions at least three times and a pair of walkons. It's unreal how much consistently goes wrong up there. You have to wonder if this is karma coming to collect from their sleazebag coach. I just hope UCONN's Zach Frazier has learned to pass, because if so, they have a considerable advantage now. Neither team is gonna play a lick of defense in that game. I'd just keep attacking their pathetic secondary, and catch them off balance with the occasional run.

The team that makes a defensive stand first wins in a 70-66 thriller

Scout $$, again.

General gist: Poster (same one who writes the fantasy articles) bemoans the loss of Woolfolk, says it is a devastating loss and will have significant impact on the season. Beaver's acolytes, following their tool of a leader's example, accuse him and his source of having an anti-rr agenda, simply for saying this has a negative impact on the season. They accuse him of trying to stir up the "rr will be fired" crowd. It really is amazing how everything on that board comes back to this. If you aren't there to post sunshine and lollipops, you're part of the anti-rr crowd. I love every second I spend on that board because the insanity is more entertainment than you can find just about anywhere else, in any medium.

dude, why bother posting links to something you have to pay for? give us something in regards to what it's about at least or don't bother.

There's nothing wrong with somebody posting a premium link that is identified as such by having '$' as part of the link.

And it's against BP policy to copy/paste the info from premium sites. It's OK to post something brief like 'Woolfolk was injured' along with the premium link, but having the link posted and identified correctly as a premium link is worthwhile in itself, and somebody that took the time to do that shouldn't be criticized for it.
