2010 TSUN News (in-season)

Detroit Free Press

Pretty good interview with Tater...but not sure how much Michigan Men appreciate the comment below:

On academics: "I've never been the greatest student. My brothers were always the geniuses. I was always the kid who was street smart but not that smart classroom-wise. You really have to try to flunk out here. All you have to do is go to class, it's not that hard. I've always been an average student. I don't ever see myself being that smart of a student. I just feel like it's too much of a job being an athlete. It's too much of a job. You get some of these kids in engineering who are players on our team who have 4.0s, and I just look at them like, 'You must never sleep.' I feel like the work I have is a lot. I can only imagine what they have."

Your AD is recruiting now?

I would not go that far, but he has been speaking to certain kid's when they here on official visits and he has been trying to sell them on what our University has to offer rather than focusing on our current coaching staff. Blake Countess committment is a clear example of this.

Another nail in dickrod's coffin. :(

Our family owns a restaurant in West Branch. We're doing it there.

UM insiders aren't confident, MSU are, and Iowa & PSU folks are too busy handling the angry mobs to notice this event.

Uh, er, uh, won't his family then profit from this? I mean, how can TSUN fans want a guy like this, whose parents probably will profit a couple thousand bucks from the increased business on the day?

The shame! The outrage!

Oh, wait. He hasn't rejected TSUN yet. Whoa! TSUN fans, wait!

Uh, guys, can we put a hold on shame and outrage? At least we won't have to hold it back as long as we did with the Pryor kid. Quick, run a commercial...

RE: AZ to Penn State
Can't really blame the kid for not picking UM even though it's obvious his heart bleeds maize and blue. You CAN blame our athletic director for having to evaluate for ten minutes whether he wants to wipe his a** with his left hand or right.

From the thread provided above..

Maybe AZ was not ready to perform. It seem that it takes a special kid to play for Michigan...especially at this time.
There is pressure to fill in depth as well as getting the most out of every position. At PSU he might be able to hide in the depth chart until he was ready.

Yup. I'm sure that's the explanation.

They didn't have shafer recruit, and robinson was not asked to do so for much of the year.

Single biggest mistake Rich made in his tenure was interfering with Shafer and hindering him, and then cutting him loose to take the fall.

Rich should've given Shafer free reign to hire his own assistants and run his style of defense.

Shafer has proven to be a pretty successful defensive co-ordinator literally everywhere except Michigan. Hmmm...wonder why.

So when Rich gets fired, and he asks himself "why me" and tries to make excuses like he continually does...well, he'll have nobody to blame but himself.

Shoving Ryan Mallett (which in-turn caused Arrington/Manningham to peace out) and Justin Boren out the door was also retarded...at best...and criminal at worst.

He keeps Scot Loeffler on staff as QB's coach and goes out and finds a OC that runs a pro-set or just promotes Loeffler and he wins more than 3 games in 2008 and in 2009 and 2010 he has pretty good teams.
