It seem that it takes a special kid to play for Michigan...

Michigan finished the season with games against three ranked teams:

#4 Wisconsin, 28-48 loss
#6 Ohio State, 7-37 loss
#21 Mississippi State, 14-52 loss

That's a combined score of 49-137, or 16.3 points scored per game vs. 45.6 points allowed per game. Awful, simply awful.

Michigan fans who think that the Wolverines just need a new coach and a little help on defense are dreaming ... your offense ain't all that great, either. Michigan is years away from being an elite team, and the next coach will have to deal with a cupboard that is truly bare ... in other words, he won't have the luxury of running off a five-star quarterback prospect and an All American offensive lineman, because there aren't any in Ann Arbor right now.

EDIT: And just a quick note about the defense.... Michigan gave up 458 points this season ... that's 35.2 points per game ... FIVE touchdowns per game. This season, the Michigan defense gave up 35 or more points in eight of their thirteen games (including 37 points to UMass, a mediocre FCS team)

By contrast, Ohio State has given up 35 or more points just six times during the ten years of the Tressel regime:

2003: #24 N.C. State, 38 points (3 OT) (win)
2003: #5 Michigan, 35 points
2006: #2 Michigan, 39 points (win)
2006: #2 Florida, 41 points
2007: #2 LSU, 38 points
2008: #3 USC, 35 points

Five of the six teams to eclipse the 35-point mark against the Buckeyes were ranked in the top five, and the other team was ranked but needed three overtimes to accomplpish the feat.

Don't agree, way overboard with that statement. There aren't any on defense besides Martin, but there is alot of good young talent on offense. Lewan and Gardner in particular are studs, and will probably be big time players next year.

There is zero chance of Michigan even sniffing BCS status next year. All Americans and5 stars aside. No B10 championship and no chance of beating The Ohio State or scUM lite next year. Enjoy.

Lewan and Gardner are in the same category as Boren and Mallett? Hold the rope, dude!

That's what I've heard, too- although the Niners rumblings are also out there.

Brandon said he would have more information on his "evaluation" later in the week next week.

The only "Evaluation" right now is where he might find the money to pay another high priced coach and how do I sell it to a community in dire economic conditions?
Just for fun, who do you think would win in a bidding contest between an NFL Franchise owned by the DeBortolo's and a university still on the hook for a $2.5 million buyout of its previous coach?

That makes me think JH is a done deal to SCUM. We can't expect that Brandon will make as big of a mess as his predecessor did. And if they hang RR out to dry for another week either to keep or then start a coaching search, he will have dug the hole they are in just a little deeper.
