There are more Blue fans who are VERY down on Harbaugh than you think. His pick would not be without a storm of protest from many of them. Slamming Michigan academics in a very open manner, making a direct comparison to Stanford academics -- not PC in Ann Arbor.

At this point in time, a move to scUM would be a step down for Hairball. Especially with the small, finesse, type of Offensive players RRod has been recruiting. Hairball likes to play smash mouth football. It would take him 3 yrs to get all the kind of players he would need to compete.

Are you saying there might be some risk involved in putting all the coach searching eggs in one basket?

On a related note, I was watching commercials today and it got me thinking. The current scUM AD used to be the CEO of Domino's right? Now, the entire national add campaign for Domino's is essentially an admission of how fucked up things were and a promise to get better.

Am I missing something or would that would give you pause as a fan if the situation were reversed? I'm tempted to start a rumor that I saw him on a boat if the coaching search starts.

The thing that really bothers me about the new Dominos campaign is the pitch that they now use 100% real cheese. Oh really? What the fuck was on the pizzas for the last 35 years I've been ordering them? Now that pisses me off.

Anyway, I think the new formula actually tastes worse than what they were making before.

Look, I don't expect a gourmet fucking pie for $5, I just want something that doesn't taste like you fished it out of a dumpster then poured garlic butter and oregano on it to sell it as improved with a bold flavor. Suddenly, a $5 Hot-n-Ready from Little Ceasars has become an appealing option.

Meanwhile the guy responsible for selling a shitty product and eroding a once iconic brand is now in charge of scUM's (eventual) coaching search with another decade of futility ahead if he does anything short of knock the cover off the ball.

It will take a GREAT hire 4-5 years to unfuck that mess up there. A mediocre or worse hire and it will take 5-6 more years of losing to figure out you still don't have the right guy. Counting Lloyd's last year there are already 4 years under the bridge they'd probably just as soon forget and the very real possibility of that turning into 10+. It happened to the Domers, it can happen to the scUMers.
