2010 TSUN arguments & shenanigans (in-season)

I hope we lock him up for a long term deal.

I find that interesting. My wife's friend's husband, one scUM fan close to me, said basically the same thing - "they should give him an extension." And I consider(ed) him a rational scUM fan. I'm all in for that, as is my Sparty-fan father-in-law.

Notice that I made no game prediction this week ...

My IMO, the state of this team is what we've seen vs the top B10 teams: MSU, Iowa, now Wisconsin:
-- a young D that gets overpowered
-- a young O (basically, a young QB) that tries too hard in the first half

Plus -- I have to say this -- one of the unluckiest teams in America -- the injuries, and, in this game, TWO onside kicks that could've been recovered ...

So it is what it is this year ... you always stay hopeful that the luck will change ... but, other than that, this is the team this year.

Next year will be better, the year after better-yet *-- similar progression that Wisconsin made from 2008 to 2010.*

And, this year still has two games -- I can see one win out of two.*

Next year -- there has to be more improvement. We have seen improvement this year, as was imperative, and next year there has to be more, another imperative.

My Take.

+++++++++

BTW, be as critical as you like ... but "fire X" or "All is lost" type posts will be deleted ... remember (or I do if you don't) that recruits and their parents are all over this board.
luck? Please.

Terrible front 7 recruiting and development is not luck.
running a d that replaces a DT with a DB and cannot stop the run is not bad luck.
Continuing to reward a walking turnover with more chances is a choice, not luck when he fumbles it yet again.

a wisconsin comparison? Seriously?

Besides being complete opposites in almost every regard (including talent. They get the big east caliber recruits ans coach em up, um should not have to do so but does)...

Their disaster season was comparable to tom's idea of progress after three yeara. Well at least his recently discovered level of acceptable. His predictions for 2010 were a lot different back when um still had solid overall talent.

There's an excuse for everything. Nothing, and I mean literally nothing, is ever the coaches fault. Nothing at all. It's a source of great humor to me how desperate he is to keep his contacts in that staff that he compromises good journalism to push fluff.

Notice his subtle little dig at tOSU in there too...he says Iowa, MSU and Wiscy are the B10's best (he also launched a thread downplaying tOSU today after their game). First of all, we just beat Iowa and the refs in their house, second, we would beat MSU too if we played them. It also showcased his struggle with the english language pretty well. My IMO, he's the biggest moron on either the scout or rivals network...and that casts a wide net.

Bad tackling - "The hard part is, to work on it during the season, how do you do live tackling?" Don't want guys to get hurt - can't afford more injuries. Another reason is "sometimes you miss tackles because you're just not strong enough yet."
Does not compute. They have Barwis(!!!!!!11!!!1!!).

I thought that too for a second, but he was talking about Michigan's performances against the top teams in the Big Ten that they have played. Obviously they have not played us yet.
