You do realize that I responded to your last post, right? The one about the loss to USC. I've responded to that more than once I'm pretty sure. But thanks for bringing it up for some reason.

And you still didn't answer. They're on TV every week. So you've watched them every week?

Reminding you that Christmas is in 19 days and that is a day of celebration.

If defense wins championships, then Florida hanging 41 points on one of the better defenses we had this decade makes that addage null and void. I am inclined to believe that the better prepared team wins. I watched a few Oregon games this year. They have some very large problems on defense that Tressel will no doubt try to exploit. "Tresselball" will win this one... Bucks 27, Ducks 24.

One of the better defenses this past decade doesn't give up 39 to scUM that year either.

At most they are 5th or 6th best, behind 2002, 2003, 2005, 2009 and maybe 2008....

Simple rule of thumb:
You cannot state that one team will beat the other without having watched both teams play.
You can't.

I will admit there are some exceptions. For example, without having watched, say, Middle Tennessee State this year, I will make the prediction that if we played them, we would beat them.

But with two teams that are nearish in skill.. Around the same ranking... You. Cannot. Make. That. Claim.

It is clear that you haven't watched any of our games, since you're avoiding the question. So your arguments are all based on complete bull[censored]. Say you think you'll win because of actual reasons, like your runningbacks have too much speed for our linebackers (which you wouldn't know since you have no idea how fast our linebackers are), or Masoli is too slippery for our DLinemen (which you wouldn't know since you have no idea how good our DLinemen are).. Etc... These are arguments... Because they actually deal with the game at hand. You have not done that once. You have said that we lost to two teams that you beat, and that your conference is better than ours. That argument makes no logical sense. None. Argue the game at hand.

I have watch a lot of big 10 games.

I have stated all of these things previously.

I think that Oregon will be able to put 8 men in the box because Pryor is not a good passer. By putting 8 in the box they will be able to stop the run. Oregon has fast LBs that will be able to contain pryor. I believe Oregon will be able to get a pass rush on Pryor, since they will be able to put 8 men in the box.

I believe that the Big 10 is not a good conference why is that just crazy. Ohio State (Big 10 champs) lost to the 5th place team in the pac 10.

Oregon beat both the teams Ohio St. lost to.

The only rebutle I have heard was you do not watch Ohio state play.

PAC wont struggle in the Bowl games, not because we are the greatest conference ever, we just have horrible bowl tie ins besides the Rose.

I didn't mean to discredit the conference that much, just pointing out that teams in offense happy conferences tend to put up more impressive numbers. Take any P10 team and put them in the SEC, B10, or B12, and I think their offensive numbers go down. Of course the argument of "good offense vs. bad defense" is hard to prove either way. There was quite a lengthy discussion regarding that on BP when Texas Tech and Kansas were putting up big numbers.

As far as bowl matchups, you're probably right, I haven't even looked at the scenarios. UO can compete with most teams (Congrats on the CC, BTW). Stanford and OrST have a good chance due to their strong running games, though I think the Beavs are rather sloppy. USC's bowl will be a huge mismatch since their conference ranking belies their talent level. That said, if any of those teams run into a legit top 25 defense, I don't see them putting up 30+ points.

Hey GODUCKS...

College Football Victory Chain Linker v1.0

I found this really great site that sez we're gonna beat ya cuz:
Ohio State beat
Navy who beat
Wake Forest who beat
Stanford who beat
Oregon

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to this site, USC is actually a better team than you are because:
Southern Cal beat
California who beat
Stanford who beat
Oregon

You might want to use this site when you bet on the games and see how much $$$ you win...

I'm going to win our argument by throwing some of your own logic back at you:

Arizona, who averages the same ppg on offense as tOSU scored 41 on you guys.

Purdue, who we both played, scored 36 against you guys, only 26 against us. We held USC to less points than you guys did.

So, we're gonna score 41, you're gonna score less. Wow. That was easy...and fun!

Why did our 8th place team totally outplay you guys at your place?

Penn State stacked 8 in the box as well, and not only did Pryor hit Posey for a long touchdown but we racked up over 200 yards rushing against a defense thats better than Oregon's.
Oregon has fast LBs that will be able to contain pryor. I believe Oregon will be able to get a pass rush on Pryor, since they will be able to put 8 men in the box.
Oregon has fast LB's, yes. Penn St. has one of the best LB's in the country in Navarro Bowman, and he had TP dead to rights and TP simply shrugged him off like he was a five year old. Having the speed to get to Pryor is one thing. Being able to bring him down is another animal.

You stack 8 in the box, go ahead. We'll hit quick screens to our WR's like we did against Penn St., and then Pryor will hit the long ball.
Oregon beat both the teams Ohio St. lost to.
First off, it took a missed 2-point conversion for you to beat Purdue, don't know why you keep thumping your chest over that one.

Second, you keep bringing this up like it matters for the January 1st game... Ohio State's a different team than when they played USC and a different team from when they played Purdue, much in the same way that Oregon is a different team than the one that played Boise.

Purdue was our worst game of the year. We turned the ball over too much and put way too much pressure on our defense. It was the only game we played like that all year and I see no reason why anyone in the country should expect another performance like that after how we played after that game.

We are not the same team that we were when we played USC. We're more confident on offense and actually have an offensive identity now.

If you would watch the games instead of looking at stats you'd know this.

OSU now is so much better than OSU seven weeks ago. It's night and day.

Why did your team look like absolute shit against Boise State? No matter what you say, I'm going to hold it against you and assume that your team's best performance of the year was that game.

I'll even elaborate a bit.

If you put 8 in the box, you're going to be forcing us to throw if you stop the running game. Pryor can throw the deep ball. He's connected on plenty this year. Check Posey's stats and see his long completions in what I'd imagine is about 3/4 of our games this year. When Pryor has time, he can throw accurately and with poise. When he gets pressure, he can go back to old tendencies and have bad mechanics. If you want to stop OSU, yes, you will have to pressure Pryor. But if our line beats your line, you're going to lose. (It's like that way in nearly every game - the team that wins in the trenches wins the game).

Why do I think your defensive gameplan won't work? Because our blocking has been better the second half of the year. Our team is better than the USC and Purdue games. We've grown on offense since then and established an identity. You're going to have to try to stop the run by stacking the box whether you want to or not. And that will open up the pass. It's really what we want you to do. Like I said earlier, OSU is about controlling the clock, field position and dictating the way you play the game.

Why do I think OSU will win? I'll look at it from our defensive perspective.

I think Oregon will get yardage, and get points. We've seen our defense give up some yardage at times this year, but we make some HUGE plays when it matters most (look at the Michigan and Navy games, for example - there are other examples). We've been very stout against the run. Your run offense will be slowed down considerably. What worries me is that we'll get beat with the pass. I think the points that you score will come more from your passing game than your running game. Think Illinois in '07, with a different outcome because I don't think Pryor will be tossing the ball around like free candy.

Our defensive line is simply dominant. We have studs at each position along the line, starting with Cam Heyward, our best d-lineman. Thad Gibson is a terror off the edge, and a responsible player in coverage (look at his pick against Michigan, for example - and again, there are more examples. Illinois comes to mind).

Now, my question is if you can actually provide analysis rather than "we r gonna put 8 in the box cuz pryor sux and our lbs are fast and will win and you guys are in the big 10 and stanford is better"

Reminding you that Houston is a city in Texas.
