Game Thread 2010 Rose Bowl: Ohio State 26 Oregon 17 (Final, 1/01/2010)

I think it was Numbers who asked you, and I might as well ask again because I was interested in the answer...

How many tOSU games have you watched this year?

Every single argument of yours has been "I think Pac10 is better" (no real justification), so Oregon has played stronger opponents and is therefore better. "OSU can't stop our offense because they haven't played one like us", yet somehow I doubt you've watched our defense absolutely stifle some pretty solid offenses.

Yep, it was me, and I asked him multiple times.

Comparing Nevada and Houston to a traditional powerhouse?

Traditional powerhouses are traditional powerhouses for a reason.

And don't leave, you aren't trolling. Just disagreeing. The other dude can get the [censored] out, he's beyond ignorant.

Haha, like I said if it helps my debate Ill use it. :)

How many of you guys are heading down? Spendy flight?

Will a great passing offense always outrank a great running team?

Lets look at this:

#1 Nevada: 362.25
#1 Houston: 450
Yes, they will.

But I have yet to see how you have more offensive balance than that Texas team considering they ranked in the top 34 in both passing and rushing categories, while you rank #91 in passing offense and #6 in rushing offense. You say Texas doesn't have a running game, well they ranked #34 in the country at running the football.

If you can show me Oregon is more well-rounded than Texas I'll believe you, but the stats make it pretty clear cut.

Like I said I can leave. Im not trolling just debating the game. Have a crossed a line?
Blathering on about how the Pac-10 is a better conference, therefore Oregon is a better team and how we've never seen an offense like yours is not debating. Discussing matchups, strengths vs. weaknesses etc. is debating. You guys are just throwing out transitive garbage that means squat in real football...

If I see a deal I'll be there.. but being in school pretty much makes it impossible as far as funding goes.

Wherever we are next year, I'll be there.

To be honest I dont care if the PAC is better or worse than the Big 10. Our #1 is going against your #1 which is all that matters to me. The best team will win on the field.

If i am allowed here I will give my congrats win or lose. :)

Look at the offenses Stanford has faced vs the offenses Ohio st. has faced Stanford beat USC 55-21.

OK. Apart from UO, there's really nothing special there. The ducks average 37.7ppg to lead the P-10; that's about 5 ppg better than B10 leader Wisconsin at 32.8 (who OSU held to 13). P-10 #2 offense (since Stanford didn't play themselves) is OrST at 32.4; less than a FG better than B10 #2 Penn State (who OSU held to 7). From there, B10 offenses compare favorably to P-10. USC averaged 26.7 ppg, slightly less than Purdue.

I think this year's P-10 will prove to resemble the Big 12 of the past few years; gains a big rep for putting up gaudy offensive numbers in a defensively weak conference, only to struggle in bowl matchups (Texas being the exception).

Here's a couple of more applicable stats to chew on: Games in which Ohio State allowed more than 14 points: 4. Games in which Oregon allowed fewer than 14 points: 3. Oregon allowed 10 more points by Purdue than OSU. Turnover margins in games vs. PU: OSU -2; UO +1.

We were talking about the other dude.

But it is pretty convenient that you watched three of our worst performances.

I have season tix and my friends RV has a TV but I am usually tailgating so its hard but I try to watch a ton of other conferences. To be honest I am usually not a huge Big 10 fan but its because Oregon has never even heard of defense so Ill stick the the out score them motto.
