Game Thread 2010 Rose Bowl: Ohio State 26 Oregon 17 (Final, 1/01/2010)

The Big Game has lost a lot of its luster with the dismantling of the Michigan program. Its much bigger nationally and always will be. But the Civil War this year was rated as the 2nd most watch Thursday game ever behind the Texas TTU game last year (quoting from memory but think that is correct).

You might have the Buckeye nation to thank for the huge ratings.

Ohio State will run the ball right down your throats just like Stanford did with Gerhart.

You may have a schematic advantage with your gimmick offense, but that's about it. Your defense flat out sucks. And our defense is far better than anything Oregon's seen yet.

Its not far better, its slightly. BSU is about as good (per stats) as tOSU.

The fact that your game was played on a fuckin' thursday means you can't speak of The Game in the same sentence. That's the rule.

That's probably because it's the only time anyone east of Utah gets to watch Pac-10 football.

Plus I hear playing on Thursday night is quite an honor. I tuned in thinking it was going to be the normal Big East matchup.

Instead of responding to all of these:

Oregon=Small and fast on defense and not good. Bad uniforms.

tOSU=Best defense Oregon has faced by far, fast, sure tacklers, will pressure Masoli all day and completely stop the #6 rushing offense in the nation.

What did I miss?

I have.

Once again, please explain.

Here ya go.

Oregon beat both the teams Ohio St. lost to.

I think the big 10 is down this year and Ohio St. played an easy schedule. That is why your defensive stats are so good.

I do not think Ohio St. has played an offense as good Oregon's. They have not face a spread offense like Chip Kelly's. I think that Kelly is a great coach and has 3 weeks to prepare for Ohio St. I think they will be confused by Oregon's misdirection, they will not be able to tackle LMJ or stop Masoli.

I think Oregon will be able to put 8 in the box because of Pryor's lack of passing skills and stop the running game. I think Oregon's fast LBs will be able to contain Pryor. I think Oregon will be able to get a pass rush going because they will be able to blitz more often. Pryor is not going to throw the ball well under pressure.

I think that is about it.

That you're on an Ohio State board.

Ah yes, the old transitive property. All hail the mighty mallards, we don't stand a chance.

I love the fact that the Big 10 is on early every Sat morn. I get to nurse my hangover with some eggs and coffee while napping. Its almost as good as golf.
