Game Thread 2010 Rose Bowl: Ohio State 26 Oregon 17 (Final, 1/01/2010)

Everyone keeps saying on TV that "the Big Ten hadn't won a Rose Bowl in 10 years!" There had been 9 games since that Wisconsin win in 2000. Three of those games, however (2002, 2003, 2006) did not feature a Big Ten team. Three of the remaining six games (2004, 2005, 2007) were losses by Michigan, who doesn't actually play football anymore as far as I know. I can't excuse the 3 remaining losses.

The catch by ballard brought me out of my lazy boy recliner so fast and it was like we just won the national championship game. That was the feeling i had all night after that catch to seal the victory on of the best Rose Bowl games for me.

Man I wish I could sit I stood, hopped, bounced, and jumpped all game. Think I lost 5 lbs Great game!

Mark May was fun to watch last night. He was VERY complimentary of Ohio State and stated that Terrelle Pryor has 4.3 speed. Who woulda thunk, Mark!

Basically, Ohio State just got lucky:

Think of it this way; it took EVERYTHING to work perfectly for a team as good as Ohio State to beat an Oregon team that never got into a groove. The Buckeyes might have won, but if it's possible, Oregon was every bit as scary in defeat.

The pieces by Matt Zemek and Richard Cirminiello are much more fair to Ohio State.

Yea, and I would ask him why Oregon never got into its groove. A blood thirsty defense perhaps? And that's hilarious he found a way to compliment Oregon as being "scary in defeat" after they were held to 17 points. Keep trying haters.

Ohio State dominated. If it weren't for poor kick coverage, it wouldn't have even been that close.

The Oregon offense NEVER was in its "groove". The Ohio State defense played amazing.

I agree that they are a very good team, but, scary? Nope. Tressel had the perfect game plan and everything came together last night.
