2010 polls - Pre-season and regular

I'm OK with wisky ahead of us. that actually makes sense. I don't get the computer love for the B12

I'm actually fine with Bucky ahead of us, what I'm not fine with is Bucky moving up on a Bye week and Ohio State staying idle.

I fully expected us to be at #9 behind #8 Bucky. This BigXII love is ridiculous.

Nebraska got smoked by Texas who blows donkey cock and they vault up to number 6?

Neb lost by 7 to Texas. They should have won but didn't. Then came back and beat 2 undefeated teams (Ok St and Mizz) in impressive fashion. I saw it coming. I don't understand LSU jumping us when they were on a bye.

It's got to be more than just the SOS that's causing the computer rankings to keep us so low.

Wisconsin's SOS can't be so much better that they move up during a BYE week and we have an idle team jump us after we win by almost 50.

We are basically one of the worst ranked 1 loss teams and our loss is to number 8 in the country. Neb lost to unranked Texas. Oklahoma lost to 12 ranked mizzou. Wisky lost to 14 MSU.

no margin of victory in the puters is killing us this year. Oklahoma had a couple "close" wins. LSU has a bunch of close wins. We only have 1 close win.

They need some form of MOV in the calc. Maybe include Margin of Victory up to 17 points. Don't encourage a 90-0 blowout, but give credit when a team spanks someone.

Considering that as of right now we don't have a single high quality win, id say we cant really complain at all about where we are ranked especially by the computers.
Think about it, our two best wins are Illinois and Miami FL (seriously overrated) and neither is a top 25 team...

The computers don't care what we win by, Minnesota and their 1 win drags our strength of schedule down, Miami losing didn't help either. We need to get that Iowa win to see where our schedule will be though.

I guess "spanked" was the wrong word choice. I actually tuned out of that game when Texas was up 20-3.

Losing to an unranked team has to count against you. In my humble opinion, the big 12 is somewhat overrated and getting the benefit of the doubt.

I guess the the big 12 can "beat up on eachother" and it help them but the big 10 cant.

So why is MSU 15. They beat Wisky and have only 1 loss. In other words, quality wins are only given points when it is Big 12 or SEC.

Well, all that said I'm still sure that a win over Iowa will do a lot for us in all of the polls but I'm unsure of how much it will do in the human voter's minds.

You would think it would negate whatever head-to-head bias everyone would have because at that point: Iowa beat Sparty at home, Sparty beat Bucky at home and Bucky beat us at home and we would have beaten Iowa on the road. Any "well Wisconsin beat Ohio State so they should be ranked ahead" talk should be completely nullified (but it won't be).

Who did the play OOC and who else have they beaten? ND (stinks)?
The win against Wisky was big, but thats the only big win they have.

Win out we are in a BCS game for sure. In all honesty, wouldn't you rather end up in a two way tie with Wisky...they go to Rose to face Boise or TCU and we could get a shot at the Auburn/Bama loser in another BCS game.

Playing Boise in the Rose just doesn't get my juices flowing.....I guess I am officially tainted from the BCS. I never thought I would ever hear myself say the the Rose was anything less than the best option other than a title game.
